I wonder if the Falcon is a diplomatic ship now.

Music for my ears :)

Shame I don't have a Super 8mm projector.

Paul Bateman, a close associate of Ralph McQuarrie, posted this comparison on his Facebook:

The Pirate Ship's final touch
New concept art of a special TIE Fighter.
Looks like a Tie Bomber crossed with the Imperial Shuttle, but I like it.
Where were you in '77?
The wings, bizarrely, look like the TIEs in the Star Wars Detours preview. The cockpit bears resemblance to a B-29
IIRC, the B-29 influenced the design of the Falcon's cockpit.
Where were you in '77?
Yes, but can you start a B-29 just by banging on the ceiling?
Seriously thouh, I never knew that. The similarities are pretty awesome.

It looks very much like the wings of that new ship rotate 90 degrees when in flight for a more streamlined appearance. The red markings and the guards make me think that this is a diplomatic vessel, while the TIE aspects feel very military. An odd combination, but but cool.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
It's been quiet over the holidays. I need a fix. Some leaked images, behind the scenes stuff, a teaser, a card with a character - something.

Ha, same here.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

It'll be interesting to see what they do, if anything, to tide us over until the trailer, which is rumored to be released in May.
Seems like not too long ago they announced the principle cast and now the release is less than a year away.

How's this?
Oscar Isaac, aka ace X-wing pilot Poe Dameron featured in The Force Awakens teaser trailer, provided the following brief comments on a few TFA subjects via this article posted on Yahoo Movies.
On getting his hands on the script ahead of time and the secrecy surrounding it:
"They won’t even do that," Isaac, who stars in JC Chandor’s forthcoming crime drama A Most Violent Year, told Yahoo Movies. “You go to the place, and they have a room with cameras and you sit there and read the script. They’re incredibly protective, because nowadays, with however many hundreds of blogs and this and that, people are just ravenous for content. So because of that, there has to be such tight security around it. And it gets in the way of the process a bit, but it’s understandable.”
On the concept of creating plot theories based on leaked images and what was shown in the official teaser trailer:
"I can’t speak for the cast and crew, I can just speak for myself, but for me I thought, Don’t you want to wait so you can get the real thing?" Isaac said. "But it creates excitement for it. I don’t think these little leaks necessarily ruined watching the trailer. And also, the [plot theories] that get that formulated based on these things — they couldn’t be more far off-base."
I just heard they hired 3 martial artists for this film. Apparently they needed new scenes or needed to redo some scenes or maybe the parkour guys just didnt work out on film.
Dont know how I feel about that. I could go for a little less martial arts in film. I am not too keen on the parkour idea either.
Minor quibble. I'm actually okay with improvements in the action sequences over the original trilogy. Mark Hamill's biggest stunt was swinging from one ledge to another ledge 10 yards away. He wasnt exactly good at martial arts either. The story, characters and themes and tone of film is still the most important thing. They are what allow us, even to this day, completely forgive the lack of polish the Original films had. Lets hope JJ didnt forget that. Lets hope he isnt merely swapping CG showmanship for Practical Effects showmanship.
So there are some reshoots being done? Will be interesting to see who gets called back.

I dont know for sure but if they just hired three new people, I assume its for re-shoots or new scenes.
Or maybe just mo-cap?

I consider it an omen then that below is my result from this Buzzfeed quiz;

However, I disagree with him on my thoughts after seeing the teaser; It's still very nice to see my boyhood hero again after 35 years (Luke), and Daisy is gorgeous.
;-)
Nice read, by the way. May until the trailer? Damn.

Just to clarify, it seems it's these guys that featured in the well-regarded 'The Raid' and it's sequel - http://www.twitchfilm.com/2015/01/the-raid-trio-to-appear-in-star-wars-episode-7---the-force-awakens.html
Not sure if this has been noted yet, but click on the image to see the full thing and it looks to be a Tie Fighter in the square box. If these troopers are armed and ready, where would they be going that would have a Tie Fighter? Maybe I'm reading too far into it.
