Does Jabba's green dancing girl ring any bells? ;)

Wasn't that just a wardrobe malfunction, or am I thinking of something else? Even so, it didn't affect the rating and escapes most people's notice (is it in the SE?).

Oola's "malfunction" has remained untouched by CGI, therefore, Lucas approved! ;)

And I totally forgot about Jabba saying poodoo!

That's not much of a swear. It means "fodder." :P

As for swearing, there's "kriff" and several that are intended to sound like "frick" and the F-word.

And let's not forget the infinitely moronic "bastarve".

I for one wouldn't mind seeing nudity in a SW film as long as it was done naturalistically. After all, uncovered boobs and butts don't have to lead into or follow sex.

Unlike what many prudes today would have us believe, it is very possible to tastefully and artistically film nudity. It really wasn't up until maybe the late 90's that they (at least in the US) started rating everything an R that even had just the shortest shot of an uncovered breast, regardless of sexual content. There used to be nudity in PG rated films like Sixteen Candles or Barry Lyndon for example. Anyway, in today's world it would never happen given how the ratings system works

It doesn't look like a malfunction to me. I think the costume was intentionally designed to be revealing and transparent in order to make the scene more racy or edgy or whatever they were trying to go for with that scene.

Yeah, but is there a point to it? If it's necessary that's one thing. Gratuitous, another.

"Darkness"?

Star Wars is kinda a fairy tale. I don't mind 'darkness' involving destruction, scariness, fear, even pain and death.

'Darkness' like the Batman "Arkham Asylum" games I can do without. I'd hate to see everyone be dirty physically, bad language, sexual content, drugs, degradation, and revealing outfits be (as is all too common) offered up as a thin layer of 'adult sophistication.'

I agree.  There have been darker versions of fairy tales but they dont have to be gothic.

Star Wars, the good ones anyways, have had a nice mixture of light hearted action, comic relief, romance, dark whatever, sci-fi, fantasy, western and everything in between.

But for really dark themes and mood, other sci fi franchises fill that niche just fine.

I am now trying to picture what a Star Wars movie directed by Frank Miller would be like ...

Homophobic, dull, and the only good bits would be where it reminds you of Dark Knight Returns.

We only hear hell and damn in the OT, and whatever the heck Artoo says when Threepio warns him to watch his language.

The Star Wars: Legacy comics are full of idiotic Huttese swears.

My favorite OT swear would have to be, "Blast it!"

While my favorite EU swear would have to go to, "Aw, Sith spit!"

This topic makes me think of only one thing: disappointed in the cooking of the duck meat.
