^The Falcon looked thin to me too for a sec but it may have been the angle.

I hope they make the grossguard work in the film. It does look like another lightsabre could simply lop off one of the mini-blades at the root.

Teal/orange, shaky camera and the "typical fantasy film environment circa 2014-2015"-forest are my other (minor) complaints. I like everything else. I disagree with the Falcon shot criticism above. I could really feel the g-forces at play and the subtle streams of air really add to the realism. It may feel a bit weightless for a moment but maybe the Falcon WAS effectively weightless at that moment (think weightlessness simulation with airplanes that rise up and dive to achieve zero gravity momentarily). A nice thrill-ride shot with no distractions. I think it will be awesome in a theatre and in context/with build-up.

The rolling R2 was a bit of a jaw-dropper but it makes sense, 30 years and all that. I'm pretty sure it has compartments that open.

It does seem that Boyega's character has crash landed his TIE, maybe after fighting the Falcon? I guess Ridley's character finds him. 

I noticed there are zero shots of stuff happening in space. The trailer better have some starfields and space battles! 

I think I prefer the other teaser with Rick Astley.

It looks weird IMO.

I forgot to mention the X-wing shots that are amazeballs.

I predict it will be as weird as watching Into Darkness if you are a Star Trek OS fan.

It looks as like Star Wars as the prequels did only in a different way (aging on new craft never made sense at least here the beat up stuff looks old enough to be beat up).

The average public viewer will think it's the most amazing thing evar buoyed along by the media reminding people how crap the prequels were.

The ball droid and Cumberjack voice over don't fill me with too much optimism and this is from someone who thought the teaser for TPM was something worth viewing on dial-up.

I can finally add my two bits:

Things I love:

• The X-Wing shot.

Thinks I like:

• The Falcon shot. I don't understand the person or people who are saying it feels weightless. I almost felt like I was falling with the thing when it plunged downwards.
• The snowy forest.
• The Chrome Troopers and all the designs that look familiar, but updated.

Things that I neither liked nor disliked:

• The Tatooine shots.
• The lightsabre. I didn't think it was too bad. I'm hoping this isn't going to be another Sith vs. Jedi movie, though.

Things I disliked:

• The rolling droid. It felt goofy, but no more than the mouse droids in ANH, I guess.
• The possibility that we're going to be seeing Sith again.

Overall, it doesn't have me jumping up and down, or hugely disappointed. I'm adopting a wait and see attitude.

This is the first movie I have ever actively awaited in my life, or watched the trailers for as soon as they came out, so watching things progress and waiting is fun in itself.

It might be a great movie. I might even enjoy it, but it doesn't look or feel like the OT at all. It was crap they tried to sell us.

It's all too emphatic. All too gritty. All too monumental. Even Vader has a clumsy moment in ESB;  but this movie will have the baddies be extremely bad and the good guys always be "deep" in their goodness.

They didn't get the OT at all. Yoda is just a crazy little creature who speaks truth from his heart, and thus, the greatest of all Jedi. Vader's appearances throughout the OT were mostly with zero-drama, not at least in the exaggerated way this hooded figure ignites his lightsabre. 

Hope it's an ancient weapon or something and not mere theatricality on the character. And even if it's an ancient weapon, have the bad guy be basically a collecting fan boy of the dark side might be a pronunciation from Disney about what the role of the fans is in this new era of SW. 

Still wanna know what happened to Alec Guiness and Yoda and how they're approaching it in this movie. Maybe Gollum's the key.

PS: Yes the X wing shot on the lake, and cockpit shot are absolutely delightful.

In that case, they should have went with using a Sith sword or some other equivalent weapon instead of that dumbass-looking lightsaber. It'd pull off "ancient handed-down weapon" a whole lot better than a light-crossguard does. 

Boyega, Ridley and Isaac look great. Isaac reminds me of Wedge (hardly surprising).

I can't get enough of those cockpit and X-wing shots. I'm off to bed now, hopefully I'll have a dream where I am a X-wing pilot.

I want this to be me but I know I'll stick around out of curiosity. I just find it difficult to care about any of this. I did however do a quick mockup to get an idea of what things might look like sans hollywood teal / orange filtering..

Everybody needs to just calm down.  It's an 80 second teaser and everybody's already picking it apart and saying the movies going to suck based on these things.  Jeez, have a beer and chill out.

Would you mind posting your color correction, Tobar? I'd like to see another attempt at giving it a more natural look.
