Windu's Blue Lightsaber (Resources) [Updated 1/25/15 - EP2 AVAILABLE NOW] *** See First Post***

I have been in a long time lurker on this site. I have not yet been able to contribute anything, until now. I love all of the fan edits I have have seen come from this site. However the most common change almost everyone misses is Mace Windu's lightsaber. I have never been able to understand why his lightsaber is purple while the rest of the Jedi in the movies lightsaber colors were either blue or green. So I decided to change the color of his light saber from purple to blue.

I have been able to achieve this using after effects. You simply draw a Blue colored mask around the light saber. Then change the blend options to color. Then you can adjust the feather and mask expansion to your liking so that you have the right color that you want.

My goal is to release raw, HD versions of these new scenes of Mace's new colored Lightsaber in blue & green for fan edits. 

I am currently working on attack of the clones, and when I get an opportunity I will be working on revenge of the Sith as well.

While you're at it, I understand that as the clone troopers descend to rescue the Jedi in AOTC, there is a continuity error regarding the color of Ki-Adi-Mundi's lightsaber. Perhaps that would be fixable as well.

Depending on when this is available, I'd love to include this in V3 of my PT edits. Thanks for deciding to share it.

Nice work. The blue is very pronounced and deep. The blue is more vibrant than the other colors onscreen. Perhaps its unhelpable because you're painting over purple. I wonder if it could be less saturated andor lighter. 

So I just realized that I don't have HD versions of these scenes, only the dvd versions. I have been working off of L8wtr's version & some of Mace Widu's scenes are cut out of his version. Most notably the fight with the Reek. Does anyone have these scenes for me to do in HD. 

Eh, I don't see how it's any different from me proving Hundsdorfex with the Star Destroyer scene so he could rotoscope out the Death Star and share the results. I'd only be lending a handful of isolated shots. But I'll wait for a consensus on this before trodding on our rules.

I suppose if pumpkinhead can demonstrate that he legally acquired the BluRays, we could reconvene on this. 

I do own the blurays I just don't have a bluray burner. All I got in my computer is a DVD burner. Therefore I have no way to rip the HD versions & edit them. I guess if worst comes to worst I can just release dvd quality versions.

I will abide by the forum's judgement on this, but would this be permissible to pass along the shots in question for him to work on?

I guess I could just make the after effects project files available to everyone. That way we avoid all of this nonsense. (This is all Metallica's fault) :)
