New Project: Star Wars - The Workprint Version (* unfinished project *)

I am starting a new project that I am tentatively calling, “Star Wars - The Workprint Version”, in 1080p.  My apologies if someone already has a project by that name, and/or if someone is already doing a project with a similar intent.

The scope of the project is to incorporate all of the existing deleted scenes back into the movie.  Therefore, the first step is to clean up these scenes.  I have started with the Tosche Station scene.

I am not a purist.  I will, when possible, recreate the scene, or replace elements of the scene, exact as possible, to make it look acceptable.  Starting with the first scene, Luke out checking on the vaporators, I have replaced the sky with moving clouds and replaced the sand.  The moving elements have been “cut out” to a separate layer.

Here is a low-res (720p) test shot to illustrate.  Comments welcome.  And as before, please let me know if someone is already doing this.

Well I did something similar for the OT, but I never shared it because I never really finished it. I however didn't dare to clean the deleted scenes.

The image you posted looks pretty good, but is the sky copied and pasted from a different source? Because you covered up all the moisture vaporators!

It may look that way in the small picture provided, but in the full-res image the vaporators are very visible above the skyline.
