The grain looks fantastic! The colours look very nice as well, especially liking the colours on the last image.
All in all, definately a big improvement over the blu-ray. Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Those pics look great! Can't wait to see footage. Excellent work.
Great. It's like taking a comic and turning it into art
Need Footage!
Here's the latest screenshot from a deleted scene. Still needs work on the upscaling aspects.

Crazy. Everything looks so much more defined to me.

Looking better already! Interested to see what else you can do with these. A lot of times when I see deleted scenes for movies I think, 'yes I get why they cut that'. But I think the deleted scenes from Revenge of the Sith are so crucial, especially for Padme's character.
The whole bunch of "Cut Scenes" that got dumped in the PT shows how bad the original edits really are - Lucas left crap stuff in, but threw out some character development or interesting things that connect to the OT ...
so if we got some good, or even better source material to work with, maybe future editors can make the PT fun again ;-)

WOW! It looks much more detailed!
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Just a quick question, are there any specific color timing changes anyone here may desire throughout any point in the PT trilogy? An example would be changing the time of day for a scene, or removing a certain tint from a section (such as the ROTS opening with its warmth), anything that is more than just giving the films a mostly blanket new grade.
Please, I'm actually looking for real opinions on this because while the first versions will not have any radical color changes like I teased way back ago, I'm thinking that certain scenes could benefit from more selective changes.
I think the DVD's colors look better than th BluRay's during the first few scenes of AOTC. I like the white overcast look. The BluRay seems to have a bluer sky, particularly on the establishing shot of the Senate building. I wouldn't mind emphasizing the cloudy look there.

I already am restoring the DVD's (theatrical) color timing prior to the new grade, so that should be covered.
I'd try to get rid of the orange tint in the end of AOTC.
What are you going to have the "long time ago" title card look like? Perhaps a dark blue like the OOT?
Really excited to see this. any thought on when one will be completed.
Had an Idea a few days ago of a " Special Edition" of the prequels. not only to make them look like film but replace clone blaster fire. or anikin"s lightsaber match ESB for ROTS . Replace Star Destroyer blazer fire. Just overall make the look of them match the originals as much as they could.
I actually like the prequels a lot. I grew up with them. Originals are better, but Still the idea is interesting.
Latest grade of the ROTS opening (still tweaking)

Tweaked the white balance a bit in the degrading process to try to combat the warmer tint in the original version.
That looks gorgeous! It's full of movie magic, and a leap ahead of what you've shown before. I don't notice anything to complain about. I can be hasty at times but I'd say, "Cut! Print!"
Excellent work! Looks stellar. I'd be interested to see some screenshot comparisons from that clip just to see what it looked like before.
Most of the color looks very good to me, however it seems like there is not much variation in the blues, and they've been pushed to an almost turquoise color. This is most apparent in the engine glows, but it can also be seen in R2's panels. There is usually some red in R2's panels, though in the original Star Wars the color can change somewhat based on the lighting. I don't recall them ever being quite that green though.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

That's probably due to me trying to remove the warmer tint from the sky. I can see about making the blue less green.
Yeah I did notice it didnt look as brown as it did before but all my brain really registered was the amount of turquoise that was added to all lights and engines.
Eman did you add grain or any other effect to the sequence?
Okay, I'm re-rendering the footage and adjusted my settings to make the blue less turquoise and more de-saturated. Also tweaked clone fighter to have red engines instead of magenta.
will replace vimeo clip later tonight.
I'm still very much looking forward to encoding my fan edits using these. Looking ahead, do you have an ETA for Episode III? And what are your plans for what's next? Would you do AOTC or TPM next?
These projects never correspond to predictions of timing, but I hope I can have the trilogy ready for viewing in time for June of 2015.
I'll try to replace the clip, ASAP. The lasers don't play nice when you try to tweak some of the colors to be less turquoise. Then again, I kind of like the more turquoise hues, but I know they aren't OT like. I just feel that for this first version, it might work better for the films as a whole to make them look like film, but newer film, rather than trying to age them as well (which includes giving the films a strictly OT color scheme.)
It's interesting but It doesn't look very OTish to me. It reminds more of a modern orange and teal grade.
