Here's a more polished version of the Introducing the DeEd doc:

I cropped it and resized to 720p to make the file size smaller, as it is still just a demo and the sound is still very much temporary and there may still be some tweaks to the video (I'm still open to suggestions here, guys).
If you need foreign subs, I'm available for a French one, but only until sept 29th... or on week ends.
JEDIT: Just finished watching it, it's very good, although as we told you in the previous doc you were too modest about yourself, using the "we" instead of "I", now you're almost too confident (seriously, people generally don't like it when people talk about themselves using the 3rd person). Just say "I", instead of "we" or "Harmy", it would be way better.
"Let's face it, the Ewoks sucked, dude" -Hurley, Lost 5x13-Some like it Hoth.
Please bear with me if I tend to get too excited about anything or say too much, I have issues.
The narration is not me, which you would know, if you bothered to read the last few pages. I think I'll need a woman to do the narration for me, so it's like super-clear, that it's not me talking.
Oh sorry then. I thought it was you. I recognized the voice from the previous doc, which I thought was narrated by you.
I created a new account, btw as I got no answers from the staff as how to change my username.
I was previously johnlocke2342.

TV's Frink is an 87-year-old man, so you might want to consider him if you can't find a woman to do the narration. ;-)
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

ASAP: PM Jay or Anchorhead or Moth3r or SilverWook before you get banned for having multiple accounts.

Well I PMd Jay and someone else (can't remember whom) a while ago, but got no reply.

NO! This is unfinished and I only post it here for feedback and definitely don't want it posted outside of this forum, least of all YouTube!

Regarding the documentary, I think it's great. The only pieces of advice I would offer are to include some of the elements that made the "Sources" documentary so exceptional:
1) More Music.
The doc starts out strong with some great background music, but when the interview portion starts, the energy from the first part seems to trail off. There are brief portions in the first half that seem kind of "empty" as well. I think more SW soundtrack music would liven it up quite a bit. Hard to go wrong with John Williams.
2) More Clips.
The interview portion is now better with the added windows. Now I'd suggest inter-cutting it with clips from the film during transitions or pauses, either in windows or full frame.
3) More Relaxed Narration
This is very tough to do, I realize. It's a fine line to not sound like a script is being read when it's actually being read. The voice is great, but sounds too scripted, and a bit too quiet in some sections. Good content in the script, though.
Sorry if this sounds like I'm some sort of an "armchair" critic, but I do think that some of these additions could help.

Sorry, been busy this past week and haven't had a chance to followup on a potential re-dub of the narration.
If you are up for it I am happy to look into sourcing and even trying to fund a professional voice-over once the script/timing are all locked down.
Female could be good, as could an "American" English male voiceover
Examples:

http://voicejungle.com/demos/jones_tj_na_13-05.mp3.zip

Let me know if you are interested and I'm sure I (we) can take care of the footwork/heavy-lifting on this.
Rock on!
Just so everyone's clear, I'm the one doing the narration (American from Ohio, living in France). I'm not a professional voice-over artist, so do pardon my noobism :P
I'm willing to re-do lines or, if Harmy wishes, having someone else do it.
What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.
I'm perfectly fine with Mavimao doing the narration, unless of course we get the Honest Trailers voice guy. Haha.

Actually, I sound exactly like a thirty-year-old woman.
Harmy, just put a NOT HARMY sub up during any narration.
OK, first of all - please catch up on what was posted over the last couple of weeks (from pg.487 and mainly this post) before posting comments.
Second of all - I am quite happy with Mavimao's narration but I guess our voices are similar enough for people to think it's me doing the narration, which is definitely something I'd very much like to avoid because then it has the effect that MoiseMust talked about, so I'm very sorry Mavimao (I really am, because you were very helpful and I really appreciate it) but your services will no longer be required.
So, I guess female would be ideal but I think pitpawten's voice is also different enough from mine for the difference to be clear enough. What do you guys think?

Female is certainly cool too, only not quite the typical "documentary voice", but that's completely up to you :D
I think at this point I'm curious to hear what the consensus is on this.
Just wanted to make it clear, that is not my voice :) Though I have done some VO work before (including a radio and TV commercial) the clips above are actual pro guys who have the "typical documentary" sound. I was actually suggesting using one of them.
We can work it any one of several ways, just trying to help take the load off on one aspect of this since you've got a lot of things juggling right now :)
Lets see what the gang thinks.
It would be cool to have professional "documentary" voiceover, but paying anyone to do it shouldn't be considered.

Yeah, I don't like that idea either.

Shaping up great.
The example of the drowned out sound effects isn't very effective. I think it'd be fine to cut that segment out as the Krayt Call example does a good job of demonstrating that the soundtrack has been tampered with.
During the interview segment, I'd recommend either leaving out the scrolling sample of your thesis or waiting until you say thesis on screen before just showing the cover page of it. As it is now the thesis fades in and distracts the viewer as they try to figure out what that is before you first mention the paper.
Lastly, I think that last logo before the end could use sound to give it some punch.
Other than that, I think it's very informative for the layman and I look forward to seeing the rest. =)
