I honestly don't think it's a bad thing at all. The overall style of "Rebels" says original trilogy, so it's fitting that the score be the same.

Overall I'm digging it though the influence of the SE is becoming more prevalent. I hate that they're modeling the Tie explosions off of the desaturated shots from ANH. =(

Um, I seriously doubt they consciously decided to model the explosions on the SE versions.

They're already modelling the lightsabers based on the SE's recomposite of the original blades.
Though I do have to take back what I said. I went back to the GOUT and the tie explosions are white there too. I think I got mixed up with either the Alderaan or Death Star explosion being desaturated.
The Chopper clip was great. It felt OT to the max to me; made me laugh, was action-packed, suspenseful, but you knew the good guys would win the day. I like Chopper, he's funny, but in an Artoo way, not a Jar-Jar way. It wasn't too over the top.
The Filoni clip just posted is good, too. I like the idea of disparate bands of rebels becoming the Rebel Alliance. I like the idea of exploring different parts of the whole we see in the OT.
I'm excited. Having seen GoTG today, I'm getting a lighter version of that as a vibe from the show so far.

My guess would be that it gives Filoni an excuse to go back and reinforce that the Mandos have abandoned that peaceful society stuff GL introduced in the Clone Wars.
On the positive side, I could get used to the animation style (aside from my above-mentioned complaint).

I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic towards this show, but this is looking more-and-more like a good example of the cure being worse than the disease.
I'm glad that they're starting to give some attention to the original series for once. I remember how much hype the prequels got when they started doing Star Wars The Clone Wars animated series. It got to the point of being sickening
