Thanks for the recent update on FB...

Just a quick one I spotted today... When Han shoots the Probe Droid and it explodes his gun makes no sound at all.

Can you fix this one please Ady or have you already fixed it?

"I did'nt hit it that hard" Yeah you can say that again Han :)

I always heard and saw two shots, followed by the probe self-destructing. Never saw an error there.

I have only just noticed this, this morning there is a shot of Han shooting before quick cutting to the explosion. It's a very quick cut so It's actually hard to spot becaue things are moving so fast at this point.

At least the special edition mix is like this... So perhaps it's another special edition shoddy audio mix error???

I will check the GOUT mix.

I can confirm that it is missing from the Special edition but the laser blast is present in the GOUT mix.

Quality control tisk tisk

Ady please use the GOUT MIX HERE!!!!

Sorry about that... My mistake, because of cut music masks the sound, I checked the FB Video and not the SE mix so again sorry for that one.

I do consider the human characters of the universe descendants of humans from Earth, after all

How can they be descendants of Earthlings if Star Wars happened "long ago"?

The city-ship from the movie Dark City stumbled into a battle between two advanced alien races who utilized wormhole technology as weapons and ended up getting sucked into a wormhole which carried the inhabitants thousands of years into the past of another galaxy.

That's my backstory so far, at any rate.

I kind of feel a bit bad for bringing this up as Ady has said the Battle of Hoth is finished. And I really don't want to come across as asking for anymore than has already been achieved no doubt. I am sure it will be amazing. But I have been looking into white loss from the original and the Special edition.

Now as small enhancements go this could perhaps be a way of putting back what has been lost color wise that is perhaps not possible to bring back through any means I am aware of. But I am talking about the white from the Flak Blasts only and any surrounding coloration which is faded in the Special edition.

These effects have been damaged although the picture has been enhanced although the cockpits have been over blown in some cases. Anyway I did a small demonstration of what I am trying to get at by restoring the whites. This does not pertain to any remnants of Flak Blast I am only talking about the white levels and aura coloration.

All Bar this shot I feel I managed to restore some of what has been lost in color whilst retaining the "new Look" of the special edition but keeping the white of the GOUT.

This seems to have been totally blown out this shot but the rest are not so bad that I have looked at. Anyway I did this in the form of a PDF as there are too many images to upload on a post so please see the PDF below.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/8fhvo1rv8vcra7d/FLAK+BURST+COMAPRISON.pdf

Now weather this is something that perhaps could be considered an improvement or enhancement and something that you may consider doing to restore better white levels as I have omly used the hand drawn 2D animation from the Gout inserted over the washed out FLAK Bursts IN the Special Edition in there White State. Apart from the first one I altered the Hue and Saturation to match the original Flak Bursts rather than the new Special Edition ones.

Is it something that can be achieved another way or is this the only way? I think it makes an improvement but I will leave it there as I understand if it's now too late to do anything of this sort. Even if it won't take that long? although there are quite a few of them i think some are much more noticeable than others. But I think it improves and restores some of the original look and put's back some of what has been lost.

With something like this although very minor change throughout the film you start to notice it more and more compared with the original whites and the special edition whites and any color loss from their transfer and color changes.

EDIT

Playing with Hue and saturation on some of the original flashes also brings more color to the flashes which possibly is more enhancement to the original effects. In many of the SE flashes the color simply is not there to alter it.

On another note...

This may or may not prove useful as I came across this last week so I thought I better post it here in case it is helpful but not in terms of useable footage but perhaps movement.

Hello all, I've been lurking around this site for many years but I decided to make an account today. I have been reading about and anticipating TESB:R since it was announced and I've followed the ups and downs and enjoyed all the previews we've been given.

This project is a very exciting one for me, as it is for the ever growing section of SW fans who post here and "like" the FB page. I've donated toward the project and I plan to do so again in the future. I am a fan.

However, after seeing the latest updates this week regarding the blaster and the trees instead of being interested I essentially just shrugged and sighed. I'm interested in the behind the scenes work and I know it's one man's work at the end of the day but this project is feeling more and more like a carrot and stick sort of situation.

I know it's been a long wait fo everyone and it's being done on no real schedule so it will take as long as it takes but at the end of last year Adywan apologised for not getting it finished saying he'd done his best. Now, this year we've had new clips, more regular updates and some behind the scenes photos but it looks as though there is still quite a lot of work left to do.

The HIC, the Hoth explosion, and I believe, the Wampa are still to be completed - not to mention filming the Imperial chap and the complete sound remix. Realistically, keeping in mind the speed things have taken so far, the film might be finished by Christmas if not the first quarter of 2015.

Given the popularity of this project and the very long production time and the fact that Adywan has said he will tackle all of the remaining 5 films at the same time after completing this I think the reason why I'm sighing at the latest updates is because I know that it's highly likely we're looking at a decade, if not longer for the Revisited saga to finally be completed.

I want this project to succeed, it's important for these films to be available in such a polished and cared for edition. But the fact that there is only a small team involved and the funding is based on donations and, most importantly, that the majority of the visual effects, heavy editing, script (re)writing, rescoring and everything else is STILL to come does not fill me with hope.

I do as much as I can, as do a lot of other people, and the fanbase grows literally every day but I am beginning to think that no matter how many donations we make, and how patient we are over the years, that time WILL get the better of this project.

Again, I really want this thing to succeed but the fact that Revisited relies more on good will and plain old luck than professional support means that a tipping point will happen once the "hard" work begins on the prequels.

I'm a huge fan and I salute every pixel of this project and every molecule of Ady's talent but after watching this for so long, and with the information I have, I have genuine concerns it might collapse under the weight of its own ambition.

(sorry to sound like a troll guys, I hope some of you can appreciate my viewpoint though!)

We all want this to come out, but being a negative nancy about it is helping no-one. Least of all Ady. Can you imagine how tired of this HE must be?

I understand your sentiments, but sometimes things are better left unsaid.

This is a labor of love, and Adywan's baby.  He can do whatever the heck he wants to do with it.  I mean, he could stop working on it now, call it quits.  He doesn't owe any of us anything.  We started with the fans thinking they own Star Wars and George Lucas doesn't - but now we're getting to where fans feel they have a right to what Adywan is working on as well?  I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

I think the better question to ask is: does Adywan want even more help and take on the role of Project Director or something?  IF ADYWAN WANTS TO, he could farm out sections that need animation, graphics, or sound work to those that have proven themselves trustworthy and capable in the community.  Then when he gets the shots/scenes back, he would comb them over and piece everything together.  It has the potential to get done faster...

However, that sounds like an implosion waiting to happen...  Too  many cooks spoil the broth Degobah stew special delight...

I can imagine just that sort of workflow being possible once Empire is released and the project becomes more well known. As it grows in exposure, it's only natural that more talented people will offer their help to the project. I mean it wasn't that long ago a certain member came on board and sorted out that sweet new Vader shot for the hologram :)

3fW- welcome to forum.

You are of course entitled to your opinions, however I firmly side with brash_stryker - sometimes things are better left unsaid.

Personally, I don't happen to share your opinions.  I do not believe with the multitude of personal and project-based challenges, problems and obstacles cast into Ady's path throughout the history of this project, that it is taking an excessive amount of time to complete.  What it is doing is demonstrating to the world just how amazingly dedicated to the project and his craft Ady actually is!  How generous and resourceful he is, and how single-mindedly determined he must be to see it through to completion.

Most people would never even contemplate beginning a project like this.  Most people that actually did begin one would not keep at it for very long.  Most people that actually were prepared to keep at it would not have the necessary skills to complete the project.

You know what?  We really are amazingly lucky that Ady is the one doing this.  He has very clearly demonstrated with Star Wars Revisited just what a master of his craft he is.  He has proven his ability and determination to see such a mammoth project through to completion, and also it must be said, his frankly astonishing patience and tolerance of naysayers and ingrates who offer nothing positive, criticize his efforts or complain about how long things are taking, and who are of course actually entitled to absolutely nothing whatsoever from him!

You say you shrugged and sighed when you read Adywan's latest updates regarding the trees and blaster.  Well, thank you very much!  You must have given him a warm and fuzzy feeling inside when he read that comment!  You want to know what I felt when I read them?  Excited!  Why?  Because despite the legion of challenges that have littered his path,  despite the countless times he could have simply thrown his hands up in the air and said, 'I give up!', despite appallingly ungrateful negative comments posted about his work, Empire Revisited has never been closer to completion!  Think about that for a moment.  Every day that passes brings us closer to its release.  Every update from Ady proves - not that most of us need proof - that progress is being made and completion draws nearer!  That's wonderful news, not something to shrug and sigh at!

What exactly did you hope your post would achieve (apart from demonstrating what sort of person you are)?  Motivate Ady into rushing this to completion because you think it's taking too long, or that he's taking on too much?  What are you saying, that Empire Revisited is somehow compromised because Ady has said he also wants to Revisit the other films and redo ANHR in 720P once Empire is finished?  What nonsense!  I am thrilled at the idea that the other films will receive a similar treatment, and if they take a long time to complete, then so be it.  If Ady and whatever other generous friends of his that are willing to assist with the project are prepared to gift their time and efforts free of charge to the world, then I for one will be exceedingly grateful for everything they do!

So to offer my own opinions on the projects to Ady, and anyone else that cares to hear them, I say thank you!  Thank you Ady for everything you've already done for us fans and for all you will yet do.  Thank you for the countless hours of effort you have expended on this magnificent labour of love!  Thank you for the regular updates you generously give us that whet our appetites and amaze us!  Thank you for your dedication, generosity, kindness, patience, tolerance, skill, wit and love.  Thank you for everything.

Some of us actually appreciate you.

Ady started this project when I was in high school. Now I've graduated college. That said, I'm still eagerly anticipating the release, I just hope the workflow for ROTJ and the prequels is more manageable for Ady's sake.

Many thanks to all for the kind words. And I really can't improve or add much to what's already been said here. There's only one tiny thing I would like to add: Revisited is Ady's HOBBY. This isn't a job, it's not something that Ady needs to become more efficient at doing....it's being done for the pure enjoyment of it. Some folks (very few thankfully, compared to the legions of awesome, patient fans that Ady has) need to realize that just because Revisited has become their go-to version doesn't mean that Ady is under any obligation to finish his project.....he could one day just decide to stop. And the fastest, most efficient way to push him to that point would be to take all the fun out of it and treat it like a product that he is contractually obligated to release by a specific date. We're all having a good time here while waiting for release day......do try not to be a wet blanket 3fw-......it's about the journey, not the destination.

I agree with the sentiments of most here.  I will however say that I can understand why people who have donated money towards the project might get a little impatient if there are further delays.

Personally, I'm sure that Ady will finish the project.  To be honest, I'm looking forward to ESB:R more than Star Wars VII.  Taking on the rest of the saga will be a mammoth task, but there is such a huge following and excitement towards the project now (over 70,000 fb likes!) which gets me even more excited about the future of Revisited

This is where I disagree. To MY thinking donators have no right to greater expectations than anyone else. You don't donate to earn guarantees of specific release dates or special entitlement privileges. Donations are made simply because someone wants to help Ady.

I must apologise. I wrote a lot up there and although I took great care to phrase it carefully so as to avoid causing offence the fact that more than one of you has misunderstood me means I haven't expressed myself in the way I intended.

I understand and agree with everything everybody said but your responses were to something that I didn't write. I'm about as far away from the guy asking "is it out yet?" As you can get. Sorry, I thought I'd written things clearer than that.

What I was trying to express was that I am a big fan, a donator and have been following the project since its announcement but DESPITE my overall enthusiasm and love for it the last update did not fill me with excitement. I'm trying to say that after 6 years and nothing but high quality material produced by Adywan I have begun to feel "dulled" to the same routine of "this is what is currently being worked on" but having no more idea than I did 6 years ago when, or if I'm ever going to be able to see the end result.

My point is that I am one of the patient fans, who has waited and watched and contributed and has never and will never lose interest in it however long it takes to complete. But if I can begin to feel weary then the more casual (or less fanatical than most of us here!) folks who undoubtedly make up the majority of the supporters for this project certainly will not stay with it for as long as is going to be necessary.

The FACT is that it's been 6 years. A lot of technical obstacles and real-life problems have contributed to that and those of us who've been here for this long know what they are. In ideal circumstances with bucket loads of donations and unwavering support from all areas I can't see the revisited team taking any less than an average of 18 months to complete a film. That's a very long time if you're impatient and entitled and looking at it from the most positive perspective I am concerned that those fans who simply can't wait will begin to feel frustrated, resentful and eventually apathetic.

This tipping point is likely to come soon because the majority of the work on the revisited saga has yet to begin. Without ever increasing financial support this project will either take the rest of Ady's life or it'll just fade away. It needs support and patience.

Again, I want this project to succeed. I'm a staunch supporter and I've championed it as much as I've been able to. I'm trying to point out certain realities as I see them about the nature of the casual supporter.

The ideal situation is an always increasing fan base who donate and spread the word and patiently wait until the work is done. Honestly, can you see anybody except the man whose hobby this is staying strong for another, say 15 years?

I'm a fan, I support this thing and I want to bring nothing but positivity to help it along but sometimes reality just can't be ignored.

-and Frink, you should never keep your thoughts to yourself, it'd be doing the rest of us a disservice if you did!

I donated (not much, but I was a grad student at the time, so it counted a lot to me). I expect a wonderful product... on Ady's timescale. He owes me **nothing**. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

Yes. Me. I may or may not be able to support financially, but I feel I'm part of the silent majority supporting Ady and crew for as long as it takes for HIS vision to come to fruition.

No one is disputing your enthusiasm or support for the project. I think it's you that's misunderstood us, 3fW. It's not that you're being that guy saying "is it out yet?". It's that you're being that guy saying "I have serious doubts that this project you guys love so much will ever get finished". Doom and gloom is not conducive to making this a rewarding experience for Ady, or those involved in the project. So as I said before, it was better left unsaid. I just don't think the negativity was appropriate to vocalise or justify.

You do acknowledge that there have been real life problems to delay this installment though, so it stands to reason that with more support (which is inevitable considering the buzz this is going to generate once it hits the internet) and hopefully the lack of these obstacles, production should become a lot smoother from now on.

Also, don't mention it muddyknees2000 ;)

Incredible work and attention to detail on the latest update on the Dagobah trees, Ady, very well done!

I think, what a lot of skeptical people don't consider or have forgotten is, there is a lot more happening in the background for this project. I don't just mean the obvious either (what is being shown/told to us and of course the real-life matters). Other aspects within the Revisited saga are being accomplished simultaneously, whether it be directly or indirectly. A known example, these same Dagobah trees will be utilized in ROTJ:R too. We also know several other models that were made, such as the MF and X-Wing (it's possible there's more that weren't revealed), will undoubtedly be used for other films besides ESB:R. It's about planning ahead and being proactive. While you wait on one thing, if you can, you work on another - Ady excels at this. For all we know, he may have already started picking away at the other films long ago, including the PT. He is getting help from some other talented people after all (the inner circle), not to mention he has people with costumes on standby (3PO and Darth Vader, and that's just what we know of so far - he loves to keep surprises), so whenever they can be available to him for help, he will try to get things done in a time that works best.

So for anyone who has grown impatient or is doubtful about the time of release, please see the bigger picture.

I believe in this project and I believe in all that Ady is doing. My upmost respect goes to him for all he's doing, so the least I can do is be supportive, optimistic, and patient. It will be done when it's done and I will always be there til the end.. the end of the Revisited saga.

Wishlist Of Ideas/Suggestions For Improving ROTJ
