Subler's great but it doesn't recommend changing profile/level, only for a specific, unrelated issue. Feel free to PM me if you need any further help on this, kind of off topic.

Had a browse through the first half last night. Looking phemomenal, particularly the amount of detail you were able to rescue from the whites and blacks, Harmy! Something I noticed which I hadn't before too - the further LFL pushed the contrast on their transfers, the WORSE the integration of the various composited elements stood out. DE makes a lot of the worst offending shots look better integrated.
Two things I noticed, but as it was late, didn't go back to check so I'm not entirely sure I saw correctly (plus I was watching on a laptop, so take that for what it's worth):
- the very first establishing shot with the Executor - it looked like the white point had been dropped far enough that the neon lights on the model had been dulled really significantly. Anyone else see that shot that way? Could equally be a monitor, hardware, player or codec thing too, obviously.
-when Han and Leia are running toward the Falcon, there is a HEAVY black line between the set and the matte painting, which I don't recall ever seeing before. Maybe I've just missed it for 30 years, but....Anyways, at the same time, on the screen-left side of the Falcon there appeared to be a moment where there was a fairly significant grey video artifact that just blinked into life, and then vanished again. Again, it could easily have been the player, codec, or hardware, but it was noticeable.

This is a reconstruction of the 1980 theatrical version of The Empire Strikes Back. The original shots were painstakingly
restored using various sources (listed below) and the film received an extensive shot by shot colour correction.
The remastered version (v2.0) represents a significant improvement in picture quality over the earlier 1.0 version
due to the use of better encoding and higher quality sources and replacing many of the despecialized shots with
higher quality ones.
The MKV version contains a large number of audio tracks, including the latest versions of the preservations
of the original audio mixes in DTS-HD, three different commentary tracks, an isolated score and dubbing
tracks in 13 different languages.

If you want to watch with subtitles, take your chosen subtitle .srt file from the
"Subtitles - Project Threepio" folder, copy it to the folder with the .mkv file and
rename the .srt file to the same name as the .mkv file, while keeping the .srt extension.
So for example, if you wanted to watch with Bulgarian subtitles, you would copy the file
"SW-bg-full.srt" from the "Subtitles - Project Threepio" folder to the folder with the
"The.Empire.Strikes.Back.Despecialized.Edition.v2.0.mkv" file and rename the file to

First off don't use Handbrake as that will compress the video yet another time (and possibly the audio depending on your settings). The best quality for your purposes would be from remuxing the video from the large MKV release and the DD 5.1 audio from the AVCHD release.
Unfortunately, AppleTV doesn't play well with h.264 sliced coding. It will play the video but may skip and heaven help you if you try to seek. While I fully agree that remuxing is generally a better choice, recompression is unavoidable in this case.
Don't rush to convert the v2.0 AVCHD, though; HandBrake trips over the video stream but we're looking into why.
I think my roku is having the same issue. I've tried several programs to remux the AVCHD of both SW 2.5 and ESB 2.0 and they all have issues when I try to fast forward on the Roku using the Plex app. What issues is handbrake having? I haven't converted it with handbrake, but I did open it with handbrake to see if it saw the video stream as another user said handbrake wouldn't even see the video stream - my copy, 0.9.9, had no problems seeing the stream.

This isn't tehparadox.
What issues is handbrake having?
The whole answer is far too off-topic but the gist of it is the extremely long GOP with few I-frames and SPS/PPS requires a workaround.
If anyone has any further HandBrake related issues feel free to PM me; let's keep this thread on track.
