It's only useless if you find it to be useless.
I have as thousands of VHS tapes and I can's see reason for getting rid of one of them.
I did cull a few when DVD came out.
But I kept what I know I will see again and they work perfectly well.
I can't see the point of getting rid of my Doctor Who VHS collection for example, now that it's complete and many of the tape sleeves are signed, some by sadly deceased actors.
Only a few episodes will be improved by the DVD experience and only then in the extras department or alternate versions.
Some months back I randomly watched Monster in the Closet for the first time. It had been sitting in my collection for about twenty years and still had the plastic wrapper and price tag on it. It played like a dream.
I wish I still had my Betamax tapes though.
