99% chance it's the SE.
99% chance it's the SE.
Or a VHS fullscreen copy digitized and projected on an IMAX screen. Wait, that was the other place.

I want to believe they know which version they're getting, but this is so sudden, and out of the blue. Some people only know the 1997 SE, (because that's all they've ever been able to see) and honest people do make honest mistakes.
The Eastman House touted they were getting an uncut print of The Shining for Halloween a few years back, famous deleted ending and all. In the end that wasn't what they actually had, it was simply the longer U.S. version.

The Plaza Atlanta responded to at least two questions asking if it is the non-SE version claiming that it is the original, but then later deleted the questions and their answers. I messaged them to get a definitive answer, and they answered that Fox claims that it is the original 1977 movie, and that this theater is getting the very first DCP for this movie. Part of the theater's message reads: "The Original means the first Star Wars for those that don't know IV ..."
So I guess I'm getting a refund then. It seems like they're not sure what they're getting from Fox, but in my mind there is no chance that it is anything except the Special Edition, and the 2011 version at that.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

We still need someone to make sure!
Wow. A reply worthy of Chancellor Palpatine. ;)

Ha! A six hour drive may be worth it to see the original, but not the SE. Sorry chaps.

They are really clamping down on the posts challenging their assertion that it it the OT. I'm really looking forward to seeing if this actually happened.
Do they think they're going to win people over by evasion? If they show the SE, it's grounds to ask for a refund. Politely, of course. ;)

Awesome. I thought they were unused prequel designs or new props for second there. ;)

Picked up this bad boy for $5 in an antique shop today. It's pretty sweet.
I have a copy of that too. I'm pretty sure it inspired this later publication.
Do special one shot movie magazines like that even come out anymore?

Very rarely but yeah.

I like Lando's red lightsaber; it matches his cape.
I consider the director's cut of Dark City the origin story of the humans who inhabit the Star Wars galaxy. The Nosferatu aliens are Force-sensitives, Rufus Sewell's character is the first Force-sensitive human, and the space city they all live on becomes the first human settlement on Coruscant.

I will never be able to watch Star Wars the same way again.
No doubt about it, that exhibit borders on macabre. However, this is comic gold...
That can't possibly be an official exhibit. It's a random assemblage of fan costumes and collectibles. I see one of those giant Falcons that used to hang in Toys R Us, and a Hasbro Dewback. And why is a NASA spacesuit there?
On the plus side, someone was clearly inspired by Frink to actually make a Nute Gunray costume.
And now we know that Chewie got really drunk that night on Endor.

All I know is this image will forever haunt my dreams:
Ugh. The changes are so ingrained now, the nature of the original version is like a vague urban legend now, with people just assuming it couldn't be THAT different.
I hope someone is posting the Visual Comparison over there.
This is frustrating.

Here's my random thought:
Star Wars is perfection because even the shitty parts make wish I lived there.
I am what all Jedi fear to become, and what all Sith wish to be. A GOD!
