Guess what the next movie I am going to see in theaters next?
I would have never pegged you as a Godzilla fan ....... cool.
Yeah got into the films around the time the uncut 54 version came out on DvD for the first time and moviestop had a bunch of them on sale on BluRay so I picked them up. I love giant monsters of every kind.
I think I have an Indy boxed set somewhere. And the fold out boxed set of Star Wars from the 80s. Maybe some other ones? I forget. I don't really do movies.
Keep Circulating the Tapes.
END OF LINE
(It hasn’t happened yet)
The latest DVDs I've added to my collection:
Home Alone
The Lost Boys
Return of the Jedi, the GOUT and -- ugh -- SE '04 versions both in one set (obviously).
Vacation, European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Vegas Vacation, all in one set.
Pardon me for asking but I have seen the term used on this site before and I am wondering, what does GOUT stand for?
Thank you for your time.
George's Original Unaltered (alternatively, Undestroyed) Trilogy.
It's usually used to refer to the less-than-stellar Laserdisc masters of the OOT released on DVD back in 2006.

Still useful!

Star Wars Visual Comparisons WordPress
I've added Army of Darkness (Boomstick Edition) to my collection.
I've added The Mask of Zorro and a complete collection of the Fleischer Superman cartoons to my collection.
I've added
Gojira (1954) and Godzilla: King of Monsters (1956), both in a two-disc set
High Plains Drifter
The Simpsons (Season 5)
and The X-Files (Season 5)
to my collection.
So now, tallying up all the movies -- shorts and alternate cuts included -- and TV shows I have, I own:
83 films and 12 seasons of 4 shows on DVD.
Sadly, I still have about -- oh -- 145 films and 59 seasons of 16 shows (and counting) left to go. =(
"Twin Peaks The Entire Mystery" BluRay
I got this a number of months ago when it came out, but just finished watching the entire set. Sadly the voice/picture synch is messed up on a few of the disks. Shame, it's such a beautiful set.
"Star Trek Original Motion Picture Collection" on BluRay
I'm not that impressed with the picture quality.
“First feel fear, then get angry. Then go with your life into the fight.” - Bill Mollison
Well that is disappointing, I was looking forward to that boxset but I am not buying something where the lip sync is off, that is one of those things that really bugs me and draws me out of a movie. It's only reason I like sub tittles more then dubs.
Oh and through careful sopping at used stores and sales I was able to add The Avengers:The complete Emma Peel mega set and all five seasons of Chuck on Blu Ray to my collection in the past two weeks.
TV doesn't get any better then this!
I've added Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part III, and Only the Lonely to my collection.
Not Part II?
To put things succinctly: I don't like Part II.
Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Predator, and Willow have all been added to my collection.
I would have also added A Christmas Carol (1951) to my collection, but the disk looked discoloured, like it had laser rot, so I didn't buy it. *grumble*
I bought my first Blu-ray today -- The Evil Dead (1981).
This particular release didn't come with any bonus features, unfortunately, but it only cost $9.99 (not including taxes), so I'm not complaining.
Just bought the four Lethal Weapon movies on blu ray. They all came in the same case and it was only $15 so that was definitely worth it. I also got both the Alien Anthology (Alien, Aliens, Alien3, and Resurrection) with Prometheus for only 20 dollars total so that was a steal
The Person in Question
Batman '89, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin, all in one set
Blade Runner (final cut)
The Blair Witch Project and Blair Witch 2 (ugh), both on one disc
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (finally!)
The Simpsons (Season 6)
Star Trek: The Motion Picture (director's cut)
The X-Files (Season 3)
have all been added to my collection.

It's a nice looking transfer.
Also undoes some of the SE shit from the DVDs (digital zoom on Cheryl and the shot of the lightning striking the tree was cut out), but also introduces some new SE shit (visible crew members painted out).
Does the version you have feature the original 1.33:1 ratio or the horribly cropped 1.85:1?
Or both?!
