James Bond 007 Thread — Page 10

Goldeneye was considered a soft reboot.  The Second reboot would be Craig as Bond.  Third time who knows.

Barbara Broccoli considered Goldeneye a reboot because there was a six year hiatus and it was Bond in the post cold war with a female M.

That last 2 respective reboots were handled by Martin Campbell.

The series was either dead or in stasis after the critical failure of License to Kill.  It nearly killed the series.  But it was the legal battles over Bond that really prevented a third outing for Timothy Dalton.

^ That is a pretty "soft" definition of a reboot as you say.

In those terms, arguably Dalton's bond was more of a reboot that Brosnan. Dalton's bond was deadly serious (Yet still fun, unlike the Craig era) but Brosnan's bond always had a little of the old-skool camp and plumped-new-depths/reached-new-heights (Depending on your taste) of smutty innuendo.

Goldeneye can't really be considered a reboot.   Yes, it takes place after the cold war, but the intro makes it clear Bond was a spy during the cold war.   Yes, M was female, but the movie makes clear she is the new M and refers to her predecessor who we can assume was the original M.    Finally Q is the same guy.

hmmm, I'll take the original soundtrack thankyou very much.

New awesome idea instead of Benedict Comberbatch as a main Bond Villain we see him as a henchman most preferably the new Jaws but instead he is more smart and more lethal and can outshine his boss.

What’s worse George Lucas changing the OT or selling the rights to Disney

It has been rumored that Benedict Cumberbatch might take on a villain role in Bond 24 and still I would love to see him as Ernst Stavro Blofeld but entirely different and he could be the competition to Lex Luther in the upcoming film Batman VS Superman: Dawn Of Justice or he could take on Jaws more like a competition to The Winter Soldier from the newest Captain America film if they wont return to Quantum they could return to SPECTRE but this time they don't call each other by numbers because that is old school now and it is a more hidden criminal organization sort of like Hydra that really means business like hacking into MI6 computers and eliminating targets anyone agree with my idea?

What a thriller! Bond 24 gets its big revamp after behind-the-scenes bother over script

By Baz Bamigboye

Put an extra measure of Gordon’s in that dry martini (and shake it extra hard), for all’s well on the Bond front following some behind-the-scenes bother over a disappointing script.

Writers Neil Purvis and Robert Wade answered a fire-alarm call from James Bond actor Daniel Craig and director Sam Mendes to ‘rescue’ the screenplay for Bond 24 (the film’s working title), written by John Logan, and add some ‘thrills’.

Sources told me yesterday that Purvis and Wade have delivered their work to producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson — and the green light has been given for filming to start in late November / early December.

Either it is no different than the usual script rewrites or the tabloids got it wrong, or something is really fucked up with the production of Bond 24.

First the tabloids claimed Purvis and Wade were fired and solely replaced by Logan, now Logan is fired and replaced by them.

I hope Bond/24 is a Daniel Craig/Kiefer Sutherland team-up where Bond & Bauer have to work together to stop the biggest terrorist attack ever.

I think whatever its faults, we can safely say that QOS will be the last Bong flick ever shot on 35mm :(.

Well, I always thought the reason Bond was being evaluated at the beginning of Goldeneye was because he went rogue in Licence to Kill, and they were making sure he was fit for duty again. I agree, Goldeneye definitely didn't come across as a reboot of the franchise.

I think I might be the only one who really enjoys Man with the Golden Gun... Not even close to my favorite, but it's fun I think

Given how different it is from the book (which I read first), I just can't take that movie seriously at all.

But that's the problem, you shouldn't take the Roger Moore era all that seriously.   They weren't serious movies.   They were fun light hearted movies.  Simple entertainment.

I don't take it seriously either. Honestly I think Christopher Lee's performance has a lot to do with why I like it.

I like it a lot, it probably is in my top5 or at least close to it.
