My county has no chance...according to my county's coach.
Seeing as no-one else has started this thread yet...
I could post all the jokes about how poor England are going to be this year, but instead I'll just say...
Yay no vuvuzelas! \o/

Your county? My country (Scotland) didn't even qualify. Booooo. :(
By the way, that was never a penalty in the opening game. Brazil can count themselves lucky.
Wow, I somehow made the same typo twice. Good jorb, brain!

Results are less than satisfying.

Good stuff. Sepp Blatter is one of the most hated men in England.
It's hard to get excited about a sporting event where a government have spent millions funding it yet people live in squalor and deprivation, where drugs are rife and life expectancy is low.
But enough of the Commonwealth Games, let's talk about the World Cup:
Spanish culture prevailed, they worked for 20 minutes then had a long sleep... (excellent goal from Van Persie though):
As for the England game, Roy Hodgson has some really important decisions to make now.
Like if he wants a window or aisle seat on the plane home.

sorry you yanks. But this is a sport that brings the world together.
it is also the sport of many scoreless ties.
Mabye. But it's a WORLD sport
if USA were better at football, you'd embrace it as does the rest of the world.
shame!!
we are better at football. If we were playing football instead of fúbol, we'd win the whole thing easy.
Also correct me if I am mistake, but didn't the USA beat England in the last World Cup?
FFS, do you guys have to repeat the football argument every 4 years?

its tradition, and its fun. : )
You even watching the World Cup?
and your constant fubol reference isn't funny.
sorry, but the American in me can't it football. I can continue to call it fútbol, or I can go back to calling it that word that begins with an s. Your choice.
I won't watch all the games, but I'll watch a couple of the USA games, especially if they go far.
If you want to use the Spanish word don't forget the 't' (it's fútbol). But you can say soccer if you want. We'll let you off as you're American.
Are you watching now?

Two footballs one cup.
My parish priest always manages to weave something about the World Cup into his homilies (sermons, for those of you who are unfamiliar with Catholic lingo). :D
Spain. Oh dear. ;-)
