If I had a dog I would call it Hamster in the hope that it would get the urge to run around inside a plastic ball.

ITS A BLACK TOY POODLE!!!!!!!!
We just adopted a cute litte black toy poodle! We got him from an animal shelter which rescued him from somewhere in North Carolina. We don't know much They estimate that he is about 3 years old. He has had all his shots and has been neutered and microshiped. He seems to be in good health. He seems nice, well behaved and friendly. We like him very much. Its good to have a dog again!
That's great, Warb! Got a name for your new friend yet?

Yep, we're naming him Tucker.
After the sweary Scotsman I hope? *joke again* RE: ancient conversations Tucker is Australian slang for food.
Tucker is a great name! I approve! I'm sure your relived! ; )
I actually have some good news of my own...
I'm moving to Holland in two weeks to be with the lady I love and to push my career as a graphic artist. Life has been pretty tough and depressing for me the past year or two, but I think things are about to turn around!
Holland aye?
That's so nearby as to be practically dangerous :-D

good for you! best of luck to you and your lady.
Today is my first day as an adjunct professor! (And next week I'll have to e-mail the adjunct coordinator and see if she'll be renewing my class for next quarter, too, seeing as how I managed to scrape together enough students for the class to go forward in, like, two weeks.)
I'm actually due to be quite busy this week, and in my area of study no less. Thursday is the state Language Fair, and Friday has an Asian Fashion Show which I will be providing kimono (and kimono dressing) for.

Congrats Prof.
Awesome news, Professor.
And congrats to ray_afraid too. I like this thread. It's nice to see so many things going well for so many people. I like to be the optimistic sort.
I finally reached that itch on my back and scratched it. Feels good.
I got my daughter her new bike today. She picked it out along with a helmet and pads. Soon as I adjusted some things she was off and cruising with a friend.
It's great to see your children gaining their confidence and being happy about it. It was a great day to be me.
:)

The Professor was an invention. So perfect a disguise that I forgot who I am.
I thought up a theory earlier that, if proven correct, would change humanities perspective on history, the universe, and the future. It would also allow for a new age of space flight where ships can explore the cosmos with an ease only dreamt up before in fiction. Entire books on science would have to be rewritten and even the way we speak about certain things would be drastically altered. It would also serve as motivation for humanity to get big projects done now rather than later. The concept behind time would even get an entirely new meaning.
It's just a theory at this point though so yeah....

Now that you've really built us up for it, the theory is (probably) going to be really anticlimactic if you share it with us. :)

Bubbles plays with his ball :
After more than a week of not being able to log on to Flickr, it finally worked! Then I found out that Google sign in will no longer be supported soon, so I had to create a third email for myself, just so I'm able to sign in in the future. After some difficulty, I finally got that working. I gave up Flickr for Lent, as well, so I haven't been able to use it for about two months. :(
Other good news: OT.com does not appear to be going down anymore! Hurray!
Flickr rejects the Borg Collective? Wow!
Where were you in '77?

I guess I spent enough of that paragraph complaining that maybe it should have gone in a different thread.
Do to medical reasons, I lost the feeling in my fingers for a good deal of time. When the feeling came back, the muscle memory didn't.
Today I tied a half-windsor tie knot for the first time in a year.
yay!!!
