Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released) — Page 472

Hey,

I just finished the voiceover recordings (finally!). I'm now going to go through them, edit out the bad takes, possibly re-record any parts I felt could be better and send them your way.

BTW: did you ever finish script 6 - the one about the sound? My copy is empty...

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

No, I was never going to do that myself, I really lack the knowledge for it.

And it's great to hear the other voice-overs are almost done :-)

They may still change - I think it may be better to wait for the finished docs, then make English subs and then translate those.

Which reminds me, isn't there anyone who would encode the audio for the v2.5 AVCHD for me? If not, I guess I'll just use the audio tracks from v2.1.

I'm sure there'd be worthwhile benefit to reencoding the v2.5 audio for the AVCHD rather than regressing to Hairy's previous efforts found on v2.1.  Do you know if Hairy himself is available to do it, as that would of course be the optimal choice.

I was going to write Script 6, unless hairy_hen came forward with anything?

Nope, I think it's time now for you to take over it, because hairy_hen is just too busy. Thanks!

It may be best if Moth3r writes the actual script for that, since I do tend to be rather busy these days (interning, and possibly soon getting some work as a music mixer).  But I have lots of interesting information about the various soundtracks of the SW films from all the time I've spent listening to them, and will gladly share it if that would be helpful for the documentary.

I'll certainly encode AC3 tracks for a new AVCHD.  The audio I made for v2.5 represents a significant improvement over earlier efforts, both in accuracy and in level-matching between the tracks, so any new encode should include these as well.

Now that I have part-time access to some really world-class audio equipment, in my spare time I've occasionally been revisiting my previous Star Wars projects to ensure that they hold up in terms of quality.  For the most part I think I got it right, but there are some things that can still be improved upon, especially in the isolated score.  So in the future at some point I'll no doubt issue some more updates.  ;)

Oh, I just remembered, I encoded an AVCHD version of v2.5 a few days ago and then I totally forgot about it. What I need for it is for someone to provide me with the soundtracks. What I need are the tracks, which are in the v2.1 AVCHD, at the same bitrate they are there, but encoded from the lossless tracks that are in v2.5 mkv, because IIRC they are newer and better versions. I could try doing this myself but I'd fel much safer if someone who actually knows what they are doing did it for me.

 This is awesome news!

“But I was going to Tosche Station to pickup some power converters!”

hairy_hen: That's great. When you have the tracks encoded, please PM me. I encoded the video at the same bitrate as the v2.1 AVCHD, so in order to have the same tracks on this one, I need them as follows:

TRACK 1) 5.1 1977 70mm six track mix @ 640Kbps

TRACK 2) 2.0 1977 stereo mix @ 256Kbps

TRACK 3) 1.0 1977 mono mix @ 128Kbps

TRACK 4) 2.0 Isolated score @ 192Kbps (music only)

And any information you can give us for the doc will be very appreciated! :-)

I tried to build a menu and make my own BD. Let's just say that my Vanilla Coke has a new place to sit.

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

BD menu authoring is no joke, I use MultiAVCHD but it's just a simple menu so the movie doesn't start as soon as I pop it in.

Is there any Blu-ray software that will allow for better menus with several audio tracks that are affordable?

Plenty, but they all suck. Most reencode video. Most have an audio track limit that is well below the total that are in the mkv. There was one awhile back that was somewhat promising, but I think it cut off audio menu at 16 tracks.

Eventually, it'll either take a pro level program, or some way to modify multi avchd to allow more audio tracks.

I'm still going to wait for the official one to be released.

Which may be a long time at this rate with the software limitations.

Well the revisited team has deep pockets maybe this can be outsourced to them they'll probably need to purchase software anyway for Empire

While it may not have the fanciest stuff out there I use DVD architech studio 5.0. The menus are decent,it supports Blu ray,and it encoded the discs at a bit rate of 28mbs which looks great to me.  As I said it is not the fanciest piece of software but it is easy to use and it has never let me down.

I also use it to make blurays of Tv shows that are broadcast in HD but only released on DvD(I refuse to pay for discs that look worse then what was broadcast on TV)so I use it all the time and it has never screwed up and adding chapters to a video file is as easy as watching it and clicking where you want a chapter.

I have used a few programs to make Bluray discs and while it may not be pro grade if you want a program that will just make the discs for you with out any trouble that is the one I would use.

Hi new here:) managed to download Harmy IV,V,VI first versions and I have put them all on to one Blu Ray. just checking this morning and the playback 60htz on my Panasonic TV/Blu Ray player, not at 24fps. So I went back and burnt just the downloaded AVCHD Star Wars on it's own. But just get the same results:( Any idea why this should be? 24p is turned on in menu aswell.

BTW love these Harmy.

Its Panny blu ray players mate. Somewhere in the manual it states that avchd wont play 24hz from a disc, dont know about recorded blu rays though.  I had the same problem a while back. Got a Sony now, plays 24fps no probs.

For more information, 720p/24 is a valid AVCHD/Blu-ray format, but it's not in the HDMI spec, so players have to convert it to something else before transmitting it to the display.  The proper thing to do is 1080p/24, but some do 720p/60.  Not much you can do to fix it other than get a different player.

What if you played that on a PS3?

The question is what actually happens when it gets converted to 720p60? My guess is, that it simply shows some frames 3 times and some 2 times, which is something that happens on a 60Hz monitor or TV anyway and on a 120Hz or higher, the frames are simply going to be shown that many more times, right?
