??????
what the heck is gaybate? Why are you blaming me for all this stuff with Jetrell Fo?
I didn't equate my choice of being a Christian to you being gay. I equated you mocking my Christianity to if I were to mock you being gay. Regardless of whether or not homosexuality is a choice, I do believe that a person mocking homosexuality would hurt your feelings simularly to how someone mocking Christianity hurts mine. I made clear that don't care if being a gay is a choice or if it is predermined. I don't care if it is genetic or not. I don't understand why it so important whether or not it is a choice or predermined. Either way, I have no problem with you living your live that way. I have made clear that you should be free to do so. Time and time again I have stuck up for gay rights. I am sorry you think that me being Christian and thinking homosexuality is a sin(but one that is between you and God) means I am a bigoted homophobe. Don't know what else to say.
You equated my homosexuality with your Christianity when you asked me if I would be hurt if you called my homosexuality stupid in the same way that I expressed certain flavours of Christianity as being stupid (namely Biblical Literalists something which you assert you aren't).
no, I equated mocking your homosexuality with you mocking my Christianity(and you have mocked my "flavour" of Christianity, you've mocked them all on occasion).
You are, I notice from your foxy sig message, also not the sort of Christian who takes Mathew 7:3 seriously so if you can edit that out of your religious chain of reference why be so clinging about the Old Testament and Acts (the biblical reference not sexy acts)?
not sure what is meant is as I recogized and admitted to my own faults over and over again.
'Gaybate' - debate about homosexuality It's an on the fly compound word which would take most people a few seconds to decode even without the context.
in looking the word up, I found a very different diffinition, it clearly could not be attributied to what was going on here, hence I asked what you meant by gaybate.
The lifestyle vs allocation debate is important because it explains the nuance between say... being of African heritage and being a painted minstrel.
I am not seeing the comparison. A more accurate comparsion would be comparing being of African heritage and white guy deciding to live life as a person of African heritage(this assumes that some sort of makeup tech exist that really make a white guy look like someone of African herritage).
If being Gay were choice it is clear to me it is more than choice of style of performance in a show.
One is the way you are and one is a choice.
I would argue that being gay, if it is a choice, and being Christian, becomes the way you are after you've made the choice. Yeah, I chose to be Christian, but it is still the way I am.
I didn't chose, I can't chose not to be the way I am.
I can't help it if your God doesn't approve of my sexuality (which isn't homophobia because He isn't scared of me he just doesn't approve of what I'm hoping to do again, at least once in a while, some day, perhaps) but seeing as he isn't my God i
As a Christian, I don't believe he is my God, I don't believe he isn't your God. I believe he is God, everyone's God. But really doesn't matter if I think he is your God or if you think he is your God. What matters is does HE think He is your God.
it only becomes an issue when people who are devotes of the said invisible personage campaign against people like myself.
which I have not done.
If they stopped doing that I would be perfectly happy to live with your God's frowny face should my ship come in and I have some form of sexual experience.
But seeing as both instances are almost as unlikely as each other I can't really see a way out of this situation. Can you?
Well one thing you could is do is stop acting like I am one of those Christians that persecutes you. I am not one of them. Stop using my Christinity as a weapon against me(like you tried to do by pointing out Mathew 7:3).
If the Christian in question is the kind of Chrstian that doesn't hurt, persecute, and/or oppress you, live and let live.
