Ryan and anybody else who cares:

Portable Deus Ex Game: The Fall on sale for $1 on Android and Apple.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.squareenix.dxm

Thanks for the tip (It's £4.99 for UK Deus Ex fans btw). It looks almost as good as the full game. I might wait a bit and see if it gets ported to the PS3 (Like they did for one of the MGS titles) because it looks like it will suck to play on a touch screen.

Dunno if it's coming to consoles. There's a PC release coming to Steam for $9.99(£7.99) that's available for pre-order. I figure if they were going to port it to consoles as well they would have announced them at the same time.

I've been playing Don't Starve quite a lot on my computer. Grabbed it from GOG, no idea how to play Adventure mode so I'm creating my own worlds in Sandbox mode. Just to see how many things Wilson can create.
Been replaying Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition since I lost my main save, it was after the main storyline with 3 out of 4 DLC taken care of, but I don't mind since it's a fun title.
But, I've been leaning back towards movies and TV shows lately so I am in fact seeing if quite a bit of licensed titles, excluding the ARKHAM series, are of any playable worthiness. I don't mind if some are timesinks.

Currently addicted to Vib-Ribbon, I can't even get the theme tune out of my head.

Bingo, is it worth a playthrough? I'll look up what it's for.

It's a PS1 game, (though it will play on PS2 or PS3). It's pretty unique and looks as fresh now as it did back then.

Bingo,
Hopefully the PS1 emulator I use would be able to play it.

I doubt it,

unless it can interact with a bought disc (something like Bleem).

Most emulations I've seen that run off downloaded roms (which we all agree is very BAD) die around the time you start the game because the software is looking for either the game disc or a music CD to build the game space from.

You will get the start up screen and the theme music though which is the catchiest tune ever devised (once heard always remembered even if you don't want to).

I was amused to find out that our newest/third Wii U game, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, doesn't only allow you to not use the gamepad at all, but turns off the second screen completely (Super Mario 3D World mirrors the screen at all times and Zelda: Wind Waker HD uses it for inventory).

I'm not sure if I should be disappointed that Nintendo isn't utilizing their own gimmick, or thankful that they're not slaving themselves to it.

I am really liking the Assassin's Creed 4 second screen on my iPad. That's something we need more of.

I hated the wii for forcing you to use the damn wii mote. I think people's complaints have made Nintendo take note. I feel that even though Nintendo hasn't been the greatest as far as innovation lately, I still think they want to make their fans happy, even if they might not always have the best idea of how to do it.

I was spoiled by the N64.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Here is a game a friend of mine made.

It's a zombie game... and it's a phone game... but it's really unusual and genuinely atmospheric.

Those of a certain age may remember the fiendishly addictive late 80s game 'Stunt Car Racer' on the Amiga (And other platforms).I found a free version that you can play on your Windows (XP,Win7-32&64) desktop. Installs almost instantly with zero emmulation setup issues and I was playing straight away and reliving this classic.http://stuntcarracerwin32.bravesites.com/

I lost an hour last night just trying to beat the first few tracks LOL

Sadly it's not the glitzy Amiga version with live damage, dashboard read outs, nitro flames and nice menus. It's just the basic PC version (From the days when PCs were little more than jumped up pocket calculators) but it still plays and sounds the same.

I played it a while back. I'll let you know if I get back into it.

Started playing Deus Ex: The Fall. seems a bit basic compared to Human Revolution.

Anybody playing Titanfall? crazy good fun.

I must be of a certain age then, because I remember it well. I managed to beat the first set of tracks on the Amiga, it then repeats the same tracks but with blue colouring and a faster car. I found it impossible to progress from there, if you drove fast enough to beat your opponent you'd end up wrecking the car, and if you drove carefully to avoid damage you would always lose.

The game became even more fun when you had two Amigas, a null modem cable and a group of friends.

It reminds you how much more difficult games used to be. A game I really loved recently was the new Tomb Raider but it rarely presented more than a mild challenge even maximum difficulty.  You'd have to work hard at being bad at Tomb Raider to get stuck and be unable to progress. I never was able to complete half the games I had as a kid LOL

btw The day before yesterday, I mentioned to a YouTuber I follow, who does retro 80s let's-plays that it would be cool if he did some Amiga ones. 24hrs later he'd done two videos taking in everything from Shufflepuck Cafe and Captain Planet to Batman and Robocop 2 (That's service for you!).

Nah, you can usually get last year's models (still work great, btw) for under $100 with a two-year contract, often you can get 'em free even.

But screw you guys, I found new friends called "even more anonymous than you" guys.

Been playing Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. FANTASTIC game! I really don't understand why this franchise isn't as lauded as GTA.

It is a great game. Shame the sequel wasn't as good. I liked Mafia II, it just felt a little boring at times. What good is a sandbox game, if you aren't allowed to do what you want? Zelda is less linear than Mafia II.
