Damn. I didn't know smoking could still affect a person thirty years after giving it up.
It's a reference to the TAS episode, The Practical Joker.
Not the first "computer goes crazy" story, but notable for the first appearance of a holodeck in Trek, and of course, the first malfunction. ;)

Personally, what I love most about the episode is how petty the pranks start off, and then it moves on to homicide! Not much of a middle ground.
I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.
Crazy computers in Trek don't waste much time. ;)
You'd think someone would have been inspired by this episode to make a giant inflatable Enterprise parade balloon years ago.

It doesn't on the whole (the damage to most but the most hardened smokers is reversed in about ten years) but it's probably a good idea not to start or stop if you have started and never a good idea to smoke around people who don't smoke especially children.
Get well soon Lenny.
Leonard was on Piers Morgan tonight, looking a lot better than in that wheelchair photo.

Star Trek Phase II released Kitumba on New Years Eve and will be making another release on Valentine's Day! That's pretty fast for this sort of production. Star Trek Continues also released their second full length episode recently. I'm amazed at how much was done recently with these two interesting fan productions.

You just got me wondering what had been happening with Starship Exeter, as the last act of the episode they completed has been long unreleased. Their website has a starship chronometer counting down, to something?

Doh, completely forgot the second Ep of Continues is out.
*rushes off*
*returns*
Excellent.

Ok, so that was pretty cool. Erin Gray, Lou Ferrigno (spelling), one of James Doohan's sons ...... way cool episode.
Thanks for the heads up.
:)
Continues is pretty great. I do want to point out my little nitpick that the shuttle should say "Galileo II" on the side, but other than that it's all very well done. I love that Drexler (designer of most of the ships from Enterprise) built his TOS E in the computer at 11.5 feet so the camera would react to it as if it were a scale model and not a 1000 foot spaceship. It's the little details.
Soon we'll have Larry Nemechek (McCoy/Author of the TNG Companion) on my podcast to learn more about Continues.

That means his energy has recovered but his eyesight is really bad :-/
Watched episode 2 of Continues, which we've christened Vic Trek in my group of friends. I think the script was better on this one for sure! However, the endings to all these episodes reek of post-TNG writing.
Vic is getting better as Kirk, and the rest of the cast is doing well too. The only problem is Lou Ferigno, like Michael Forrest before him, steals the scene whenever he's on. That's what happens when you cast pros with fans, I guess.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
That was pretty good. Killed 45mins at work anyway!!
I happened across a TNG LD for $2.99, it has Yesterday's Enterprise and The Offspring. These are 2 of my favorite TNG episodes to this day. Definitely a treat for me.
And Chuck Huber is back as McCoy in Vic Trek. You can check out his earlier performances on their vignettes. Though I wasn't unhappy with Larry Nemecek as McCoy, I think Huber has a better grasp on DeForrest Kelley's delivery (I blame his Voice Acting roots). Glad this is happening.

I know "reality" shows like Comic Book Men, are probably scripted up the wazoo, but did they really think anyone would believe Nichelle Nichols doesn't have a closet full of Uhura Mego figures by now?
And making her haggle over it was in dubious taste.

George hasn't got anything in his closet :-D
OH MYYYYyyyy!
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
Whoops!

Is it just me, or does Geordi get captured and tortured a lot? Levar and Malcolm must have had some interesting conversations on the set...
The torture scene might have been a little too weird had they left it in, if you're familiar with Levar's other iconic tv role...
Farscape wins (this isn't even the worst bit):
