Why is Creepy Puppet Yoda so bad, anyway? Even as an undiscerning eleven-to-twelve-year-old, I found the visual disconnection between CPY and the puppet(s) in TESB & ROTJ incredibly jarring.
This doesn't look as bad as creepy puppet Yoda, yet it's an Episode One item.

There's some lens distortion going on in that shot. Anybody can look creepy that way. ;)

The brows, the shape of the face, his nose... it's all wrong. CGY at least looks like a more plump OTPY.

Fact A: IV is the best movie
Fact B: IV is the only movie without Yoda
Therefore: Yoda is the worst thing about Star Wars.
*shock*
I think the visual disconnect results from trying to make him younger. It makes little sense for someone several centuries old to look significantly different over a mere thirty years. That, and they used silicone skin versus the latex skin of the original.
Or else they applied the same goofy rationale later used to justify "fixing" the "flaws" of the original Vader helmet design for ROTS.

I think there's just as much disconnect because they put Yoda in the cosmopolitan environment of Coruscant where he is clearly not at home. The CG Yoda makes this work a bit better actually, but Yoda should never have been an active part of the Clone Wars in the first place.

But if you compare Ep. V Yoda with Ep. VI Yoda, there is a noticeable difference as well. Yoda looks pretty bad in ROTJ, so why not make him look younger in the prequels?

Because it's like making a 90yr old human look 45 because they are a year younger.
I think this might be the single worst image on all of Wookieepedia

Maybe it's just me, but I never thought he looked that much younger in the prequels, aside from his extraordinary athletic abilities. He doesn't look as real because he's CG, but age-wise I don't think he looks that different.

He looks different. The explanation for which was because he was younger. You asked, "so why not make him look younger in the prequels?" ergo my response.

I would have preferred one colour for both the Jedi and the Sith or one colour for the Jedi and Sith each over the unbalanced mess utilized by the PT. Sith get only red while Jedi get blue, green, and the occasional purple? Give me a break!
What about hot pink?
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

I think there are some crossed wires here.
TPM Puppet Yoda was made to look much younger, which was indeed insane. When a creature lives the best part of a millenium, 20 years shouldn't look like 20 years. TPM CGI Yoda went the right route and 'tried' to make him look exactly the same age. I don't think anyone was saying CGI PT Yoda looked way too young.
However nothing wrong with ROTJ Yoda looking a little older than ESB Yoda as he is dying. I terminal illness kinda ages a person. Infact one of the puppets eyes wasn't properly working in ROTJ (It was very slightly lazy) but they decided to leave it that way to make Yoda look extra sick and feeble.

You're right. So many sabers, and they're all one color? Terrible. He should have at least 5 different colors going on.
Are they meant to be saber blades?
I thought they looked like red gas jets or exhaust from rocket or something.
wookieepedia says:
Additionally, lightsabers were installed in his elbows, forearms, wrists, and knees.
That has got to be the stupidest outfit I've ever seen.

I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.
I wonder what George thinks of his characters being used at a political conference?

LOL. 'TAX MY WEED, NOT MY JOB,' sure and while you're at it, why don't you, instead of my job, tax my alcohol and my cigarettes... Oh wait... :-D
BTW. RicOlie_2, I like your title and signature but shouldn't it be 'Look, it's a title' and 'Look, a signature'? ;-)

But then it would be inconsistent with my avatar...(I could make my own "Look, it's an avatar" avatar, but that would take too much effort). :P
