Nice!  I can finally watch S1/E5.

A WARNING. The first two seasons are pretty rough. The first one especially so. But it turned the corner by season 3. So keep that in mind and just give it a chance.

So a couple of stray finished episodes suddenly becomes 13 episodes for a sixth season.  So they obviously  animated more episodes since the series was canceled.

A for profit entity pulls a fast one on fans who would have seen that coming?

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

That's still far short of the previous 22 episode seasons.

Not sure who is to blame for the confusing PR muddle that's ensued since the axe fell, Disney or Lucasfilm?

Because Netflix, that's why. :p

Or we're on the cusp of a new era where Disney is going to have a turnstile on everything Star Wars? ;)

I don't even get Disney XD on my basic cable. Damned if I'm paying extra for it either.

Cartoon Network is owned by Warner Bros. Now that Disney owns the property they want to keep the brand in the family. Disney has been fostering a healthy relationship with Netflix for some time now. So this move isn't that surprising.

If Disney actually gave a crap about TCW, they wouldn't have cancelled it.

I wonder if Warner still retains the rights to the movie?

I think it'd be funny if Luke mentions or drinks hot chocolate in Episode VII.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Why didn't Han pay off Jabba in between ANH and ESB?

It's explained in the conversation between Han and Leia in the hallway scene in ESB that Han had decided to stay and help the rebellion. He'd be pretty hard for Jabba to find while running with such an organization. However, as is explained in said scene, a bounty hunter still managed to track Han down, changing his plans. So, as the rebels prepare to evacuate the Hoth base, Han and Chewie prepare a trip to deliver the money to Jabba. However, those plans get changed as well....

You should check out The Empire Strikes Back sometime. It's a pretty good movie. ; )

I've seen ESB. I just don't feel the need to memorize every line.

It was such a brief mention that you'd have to be thinking about while you watch the movie in order to notice it.

In the comics, he was on his way to do just that. The Falcon was boarded by space pirates, who let Han and Chewie go, but took their loot. Sometime later, Han and the pirate Captain faced off, and the pirate's captured Star Destroyer was wrecked and it's crew killed in the ensuing battle.

Jabba later had Han and Chewie pinned down in one of their secret hideouts for the Falcon. Unfortunately for both parties, it had been infested with omnivorous parasites since it was last used. Jabba forgave the debt in exchange for being rescued, only to later discover Han was the one who wrecked the pirates he was funding.

The Hutt put a bounty on Han, just in time for the ESB adaptation. ;)

I believe this was in the original crawl.

Didn't three different EU stories show Han losing the money to three different bounty hunters in three different ways?

Yeah, Han has some bad luck when it comes to Ord Mantell and bounty hunters...

This is what I consider to be the canon encounter.

However, if it were up to me. My personal way of telling the story would have been to have Han encounter Boba Fett on Ord Mantell and end the story with some Rebel soldier sacrificing himself to save Han from a disintegration shot from Boba.

What if the officer who says, "Hold your fire." in the beginning of ANH instead said, "Go ahead and fire."?

Then the entire Star Wars saga is a single ten minute short.
