yeah . . . that is sick . . . just sick. I have to say I am very conflicted about this games(the story about the dogs, the corruption behind the scenes in Sochi, Putin, the homophobia, the threat of terrorist attacks, etc.). I wish conditions could be different. I think Sochi and Russia was a bad choice. Still the Olympics are there and there is no changing that. But I do hope America kicks Russia's ass in the games.

I've just seen the highlights of the opening ceremony on the news, that's enough sport for me. They said one of the rings failed to open...

...so the lighting engineer is probably already on a train to the gulag.

Much as I want to see Putin to fall flat on his evil, egomaniacal ass, (and have photos/video leak of him french kissing a guy) I hope everyone involved will be safe and sound.

This is still going to be the definition of uber clusterf#ck for years to come. I take solace in the fact that the crumbling bathroom fixtures in my house work a heck of a lot better than the brand new ones in Sochi. ;)

Because the Kremlin didn't want any accidents to be seen by the entire world? Russia was notoriously secretive about their space program during the Cold War era, especially their own disasters.

Rumors and tales of dead cosmonauts erased from the official history persist even today.
