That sounds like a personal attack but I can't tell which one of them should be offended.
Sounds like a joke to me but either way it's more Off Topical than On Topical.
Just to bring us back on topic (buzzkill), does anyone close to the project know whether filming is finished? Based on one of Ady's posts near the end of December, it sounded like model work and filming were at the top of his to-do list. Then he needed to add some effects to a few shots. Early on I was under the impression that he wanted to have all of this wrapped up, then turn his attention to the audio. Is that still the plan?
There is still filming yet to be done (carbonite, wampa). He's been busy tweaking other shots recently.

Technically speaking the Papa Lazarou post doesn't fall into the quoted prohibition as it has text embedded in it and this thread has a history of this sort of thing.
It's not exactly on-topic though.
It's almost to be expected during one of these news-lite lulls in activity.
Everyone will go back to posting useful nonsense once ESB:R is out of the way.
I have to say I might feel guilty after watching this when it comes out, not knowing exactly how much work was done with everything, just to be able to thank him and the rest of the team enough. Then again, maybe knowing say all the little tweaks Ady is doing would distract me from being able to actually enjoy the film.
Oh, you'll enjoy the hell out of it!!
Is there a thread started about RotJ:R? I couldn't find one.

No official threads yet, no.
Thanks for the reply. I'll keep checking as I have a couple of questions regarding changes that Adywan hasn't posted on his website.

compositing
and the audio work
Was the shield generator explosion problem solved?
I got my blu-ray burner, blank inkjet printable Blu-ray discs and inkjet disc label printer ready to go. I am now waiting to download, burn, and print the disc labels & jacket and put it in my blank double disc Blu-ray cases I just bought at Microcenter. How will this be distributed? I assume through torrents?
Or you could send them out, printed and ready to go. Cheers
Is ESB:R going to be available in both DVD and BluRay? if so, will there be differences among the versions? (beside the video quality)

Yes.
The DVD will be as Adywan originally intended but will be at a low resolution and feature a sadly 'washed out' image. The Blu-Ray will be in full HD but will feature a new totally different colour-timing to the DVD, be heavily DNRd and Adywan will add in loads of extra changes that we all hate.
;-)

That would certainly be on par with the commercial releases we've seen for Star Wars in the past, wouldn't it? (Nice job, Lucasfilm!)
ANH:R was released with different NTSC and PAL versions for DVD. I'm assuming the same would hold true for ESB:R on DVD. That's not necessary for HD though, is it, since it's a different standard altogether?

What? Full HD? I thought he was only releasing it in 720p

Will there be an AVCHD format?
There will be ONE cut of ESBR, as opposed to the AVI, DVD-5, and DVD-9 cuts of ANHR.
There will be several official versions released:
- Blu-Ray 720p BD-25
- DL DVD PAL
- DL DVD NTSC
- 720p mkv
- Special features DVD-5 (only needed for mkv & DVD version as all these will feature on the Blu-Ray)

Check the batteries on your joke detector.
I don't recall this being brought up, and I do not know if Ady has already filmed the new canyon shot, but would it make sense to add a slight glow to the walls from the Millennium Falcon's blue boosters?
The only reason I ask is because I thought it actually was a cool effect to have in Attack of the Clones when Jango and Obi Wan were flying through that hole in the asteroid and their ships had lit up the area around them. Though it could be argued that since they were INSIDE an asteroid at that moment, that there would be complete darkness which helped the lighting be more visible, but the canyon in ESB is rather deep as well, so the same logic could apply. I was thinking since the shot is being recreated, perhaps it could enhance the new version a bit further.
Thoughts?
