He seems to have taken it upon himself to be the Fun Police . . . as in, no fun allowed on this forum.

Because, you know, we're not here to talk about how much fun we have watching certain movies or anything.

Vader's new line replacing "Bring my shuttle!" is so much better. With the old line we were left wondering, "Where is Darth Vader going? Will the people on the Star Destroyer be sufficiently prepared for his arrival?" Now everything is clear and we don't have to worry about it anymore.

...

In ROTJ we are treated to an all new music video called "Lappy Neck" or something like that. The talent and CGI displayed in the video was so good that I think they should go back and replace Star Wars with a musical saga, replacing all puppets with CGI and adding a whole bunch of new ones who can pop out from behind trees and stuff and sing (I can see it now: Star Wars: A Musical Hope followed by The Tenor Strikes Back and Rehearsal of the Jedi and preceded by The Phantom VocalistAttack of the Notes, and Remix of the Sith).

...

Perhaps best of all is that we get to see the tender young Anakin Skywalker, with the appearance of our beloved protaganist from the prequel trilogy, whereas before that scene was a "Who the heck is that guy?" moment, which detracted from the emotional impact of the scene. Now we see more clearly the tender love between father and son as young Anakin sheepishly smiles at his son and all former misunderstandings fall away. What better way to end the saga?

...

How could anyone take this serious?
Thanx, I had fun reading this! :)

Because Fo was NOT having another humor-freeze ..... if you can do these kinda of things, the rest of us can do them as well, right?  Apparently at least 1 person got it ...... LOL

I suspected you weren't being serious, but you went kind of far with it and sarcasm isn't easily picked up in writing. Well, at least you have a sense of humour.

If you didn't pick it up at the last sentence, Jetrell, then you're either failing at sarcasm, or my attempt at humour is going waay over your head.

I guess you were failing at sarcasm.

Strangely I didn't go as far as some do here and they are better liked than I am but yes, I DO have a sense of humor.  I did enjoy the read as well.  Lucas SUCKS!!!!

Thanx, I had fun reading this! :)

When I first read it, I only realised it was a joke when I came to the comment about Obi-wan's lipstick.

Sadly, there are people on the internet who would write that kind of crap for real.

That's true...I have to watch myself. I figured it would be obvious enough, based on previous comments (not that I expected that everyone who read it would have read those comments) and I figured that I had enough obviously non-serious bits in there that everybody would catch on.

Now, had you mentioned a change like seeing the alternate take of Dengar in his wife's nightgown or IG-88 in his Ron Jeremy mode ....... that would have been priceless.

Hmmm ... makes me wonder.

Jay and Moth3r can tell you outright, I have NEVER had a sock account while I've been a member here, EVER.  Nor would I want one.  I wouldn't have any need for it.

The only changes I could have lived with are the ones that improved the take off of the Millennium Falcon from Mos Eisley and the Death Star attack. Some of the original shots clearly look like little models or at least aren't very dramatic, so a change to make them more believable wouldn't have bothered me.

Since we haven't been given an option in real life I have decided against any  SE changes.

The only changes I really Like is the falcon landing on yavin and the new x wing take off

I like the 1997 ending of ROTJ. Much more fitting for the end of the trilogy.

I don't really like any of the changes.  But it makes Lucas seem like a genius to get fox to pay for free research and development for the prequels which is what the cgi on the 1997 special edition really was for.

That and seeing if the public still was interested in star wars the 20th anniversary was a test for the prequels in that regard as well.  If the special edition bombed maybe the prequels would not have been made, and maybe the originals would still be available and the special edition the new coke.

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

I like the Millenium Falcon taking off from Mos Eisley and where it lands on Yavin IV. I also like the approach to the landing platform in ESB. Those actually seem like they were legitimately meant to be a part of the film.

Well I didn't mind getting rid of the orange underneath the landspeeder in my opinion that looked very stupid it would have been great though if the could have done that than skipped the CGI creatures and aliens walking around most especially the "Beast Of Burdens" as George Lucas called them as they where one of the worst changes ever next to CGI Jabba The Hutt.

What’s worse George Lucas changing the OT or selling the rights to Disney

George Lucas will never be my beast of burden.

I only kind of liked the added scene where Luke bumps into Biggs in the yavin hanger, and red leader talks to them. It felt more like an actual restored deleted scene, unlike the Jabba scene which was just pointless and stupid.
