Is there some explanation what Han did to the Falcon between Star Wars and Empire, since in Empire these boxes appear on the belly of the ship?
A lot of people have been saying that trailer looks like crap. But I'm just glad to finally be getting a Star Wars space-battle game. It's been YEARS since anything like this was released.
You know of the rebellion against the Empire?
I'm excited for a new space-battle game, but I want it to be a good one, not just a new one. Here's hoping the final product looks better and preforms better than the trailer would have us believe.

What boxes? I needs pics!

Sure thing!
Note that in ANH, the front half of the bottom saucer is smooth, and in ESB it's got those boxes.
All images but the last one are from starwarsscreencaps.com
Thanks! That's interesting. I wonder what the real-life reasons were..
Retail model kits of The Millennium Falcon:
The MPC/Ertl Star Wars version with 3 landing Gear Bays
The FineMolds Empire/Jedi 5 landing gear version
I dont know the explanation why Han & Chewie decided to add another 2 landing gears to the underside of The Falcon, but the set builders who were under pressure to build a whole free-standing for filming in Hoth's Echo Base & on the Landing Platform of Bespin, knew they wouldn't get away with filming tricks they had used when filming Star Wars.
The Falcon docked in Mos Esley & on the Death Star was built against a wall for support:
The Half-Falcon also had support disguised as pipes or in the middle of barrels:
The filming models were then adjusted to match up with the new 5 landing gear set version

Ooh, that's cool stuff. Love learning new things like this!
The weird part is all the Kenner versions had a middle landing leg. None of the toy landing gears were screen accurate though. The Micro Collection Falcon, released in 1982, retains the 1977 look.
The "in universe" explanation could be Han has added more smuggling compartments. There actually was a scene in the Marvel comic where the bad guys know where to look, but false bottoms have been installed, faking them out.
Will be interesting to see how the new Falcon prop turns out.

That doesn't really explain why the Falcon has more landing gear than before. The only good explanation is that Han installed something heavy in the front end between ANH & ESB, and it required adding more landing gear in the front.

Well, if we extrapolate linerally, the Falcon could have...a lot of feet!
The ship also could have taken some heavy damage between films. We don't know the specifics of the run in with a bounty hunter Han mentions in ESB.
The amount of work Han and Chewie are doing on the Falcon on Hoth, (and the trouble just getting off the ground) hints at major repairs or modifications going on.
I don't think we ever see any rebel techs helping out with repairs, only a droid. Not enough manpower to go around, or does Han not trust anybody besides Chewie with his baby?
We do know he probably recently installed that neat little gun that takes out the snowtroopers. Unless it was busted in SW, it would have come in handy when departing Mos Eisley.

So, a question that has plagued me for a while:
Was Tarkin the main villain of the original Star Wars?
I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.
I like Star Wars and the original three movies, but I never exactly watched them growing up (I was born a year before TPM came out, and I have a vague recollection of watching Jedi at a friend's house), and I don't own the official home video releases. Like, everybody knows what happens in the story, because the films were big hits, they revolutionized the film industry again, and have buried themselves deep in pop-culture, but I only took a real interest in the original trilogy about five years ago. I of course knew of the changes that were made over the years, so I made a conscious effort to watch the theatrical versions instead, and I eventually ended up here. I can call myself a fan of the films, but beyond that I don't hold too much interest in the franchise they have created.
So, a new book came out and we learned so much, and it is called, “Anguilosaurus, Killer of the Living”.
Depends on your point of view. Prequels notwithstanding, the Death Star seems to be his baby, and he's the only one seen ordering Vader around.
He could be considered a co-villain.

Tarkin's the big bad and Vader's the dragon. Tarkin's in charge but Vader's the muscle and the real face of villainy.
I'd say the entire Empire is the main villain of Star Wars. Tarkin just doesn't have enough presence to be the villain in my book, and -- as everyone else has already pointed out -- Vader's just a lackey, albeit an impressive lackey.
Peter Cushing's ghost would like to have a word with you. ;)

Lol!!
It is my guess that, while the Death Star was being built, Vader and Tarkin found a mutual respect for each other and evil. Maybe Tarkin befriended Vader in a way no other human or Sith could .... maybe even did him some solids ya know. Then again, maybe the Emperor commanded Vader to defer to Tarkin due to his own plans for the future.
It's anyone's guess.
space battles vs. ground battles vs. lightsaber duels. Which is your favorite and which is your least favorite?

If you've seen The Clone Wars, Tarkin and Anakin have a history together, so you're not far off.

My favourite: lightsaber duels
My least favourite: lightsaber duels
Dog fights in space have become my favorite.
Lay off the choreographer a little in the ST and I might enjoy lightsaber duels again.

Space battles. The most iconic and recurring images from these movies is the front view inside the Millenium Falcon cockpit. It's also like a mini-stage for the actors.
It's going to be glorious seeing the Millenium Falcon again in the ST.
