Wow, that's awesome. Didn't know about that.

Here's the third part of the scene of the test rescans:

Scene is lower resolution due to Vimeo limitations for account.
There's more dirt on these scenes, but they're still being cleaned.

Post the files on Mega or something, it makes so much more sense.

Sez you.
Wow, just wow. I've been looking at the ROTJ screenshots and I must say I'm amazed at the image quality and cannot wait to see what Harmy will do with it once his ESB 2.0 and ROTJ 2.0 are done, it's going to look stunning. However, I would also like to see screenshots of ESB, could you please post those ones as well?
The final section of rescan comparison.
The cleaning is both physically of the film before the scanning, and after, digitally as we've been showing.
The colors for C3PO, and Princess Leia look at lot more natural now.
*NOTE: Again a few artifacts and jitters are present after uploading that are not in the original.
We will be posting a synopsis soon.
-----------------------------------------------
We choose to use streaming video for the privacy.
Mega is a lot more private than Vimeo. On Vimeo you have 2-letter long password, on Mega it's 2048 bit encryption. Only people who have encryption keys can download your files. Free account is 50GB of storage. Not sure about traffic limit though.
Fanrestore - Fan Restoration Forum: https://fanrestore.com
To clarify, maybe it makes more sense for him (or them, whatever), but vimeo makes more sense for me because I don't have to download a file I'm just going to delete anyway.
Of course, with everyone posting on an open forum requiring zero registration, I don't understand why privacy would matter anyway.
Over the last few years, we have been posting various samples of the print, and different tests.
This post combines most of the links for reference.
For those that doubt we have the print, or what portions of it, you'll see that from the very first
frame of the intro, to the last frame of the credits.
We have sampled every reel, and put up video, sample frames, and audio of each one.
All are available in HD and sometimes higher resolutions.
These should serve as a future reference for those investigating this print and the
evolution of this project.
For ESB frames : Refer to the Star Wars Color Timing Thread, which
has many examples.

I tried to quote you quoting him, and got this reply...

Well thank goodness for that then.

This is the nicest thing you have ever said in a -1 thread, Frink! You gotta go easier on the guy.

removing the carriage returns should get it back under the limit! ;) Sorry -1, couldn't resist. Love you anyway!

Here is a triple comparison of clips of the flyover. All are from 35mm film. Can you guess which ones are which for the sources? (Top, Middle, Bottom).
Some should be apparent to you by now.

Well, the top is definitely '77. The middle one is '81 and the bottom one is '97 (I didn't know you guys had a '97SE print. Would be interesting to see some of the '97SE specific shots).

We have a winner. That was very quick.
Good Job to Harmy.

Well, it wasn't hard, I only needed the first 12 seconds - the top one was the only one where Tatooine appears on the correct cue, so it had to be '77, the bottom one had the same starfield as the top one, but Tatooine appeared on the wrong cue, so it had to be '97 and the middle one also had the wrong cue and you said they were all different versions, so it had to be '81 (I would have recognized the '81 by the starfield as well, if it was visible).
Isn't it a little sad, that in higher quality I could quite likely have recognized which is which just by a still image of the starfields before the pandown starts? :-D
the guy knows his Star Wars.
looking for HDTV of the Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Also HDTV of The Lord of the Rings trilogy

No, that just means you're the right man for the job.

For those that doubt we have the print, or what portions of it, you'll see that from the very first frame of the intro, to the last frame of the credits.
Do people still doubt you have prints? After what, 3 years of posting these teasers, 2 websites going up and coming down, and 9,000 pages of questions answered?
My only question is that with a "team" working on it, and with so much talent here on the forum, why isn't at least one film restoration finished?
This is a serious question, not a complaint.
As a former post-production person, I am picturing a workflow after manually cleaning the film:
1) scanning
2) digital cleanup
3) color correction
4) audio sync
5) make a video master
If I were the project manager, I'd have 12 people each take 10 minutes of one film, do digital cleanup (with predetermined rules from team -1) for a couple of weeks, then send it all back for final color correction. Is this not feasible? Too much chaos introduced?
