Dame Edith Sitwell writes :

Still Falls the Rain

Still falls the Rain---
Dark as the world of man, black as our loss---
Blind as the nineteen hundred and forty nails
Upon the Cross.

Still falls the Rain
With a sound like the pulse of the heart that is changed to the hammer-beat
In the Potter's Field, and the sound of the impious feet

On the Tomb:
Still falls the Rain

In the Field of Blood where the small hopes breed and the human brain
Nurtures its greed, that worm with the brow of Cain.

Still falls the Rain
At the feet of the Starved Man hung upon the Cross.
Christ that each day, each night, nails there, have mercy on us---
On Dives and on Lazarus:
Under the Rain the sore and the gold are as one.

Still falls the Rain---
Still falls the Blood from the Starved Man's wounded Side:
He bears in His Heart all wounds,---those of the light that died,
The last faint spark
In the self-murdered heart, the wounds of the sad uncomprehending dark,
The wounds of the baited bear---
The blind and weeping bear whom the keepers beat
On his helpless flesh... the tears of the hunted hare.

Still falls the Rain---
Then--- O Ile leape up to my God: who pulles me doune---
See, see where Christ's blood streames in the firmament:
It flows from the Brow we nailed upon the tree

Deep to the dying, to the thirsting heart
That holds the fires of the world,---dark-smirched with pain
As Caesar's laurel crown.

Then sounds the voice of One who like the heart of man
Was once a child who among beasts has lain---
"Still do I love, still shed my innocent light, my Blood, for thee."

Funny comments, especially the "pushed out the window" one :D  It's a small city with few tall buildings, certainly none where I live.  He was chased and cornered in our yard by officials, who were especially zealous in capturing him because he was so near the elementary school.  He's safe now.  They released him in the wild somewhere.  I got on the Tucson news.  I'm not too keen in revealing more about me than I already have (I've shared a lot here, really), but I'm sure Tyrphanax, if he watches the news, would get a view of my handsome mug if he wanted to.

A lot of bears are at risk due to defenestration.

If you know any bears who live near you send a round robin suggesting they stay indoors over the bonfire season as they love the colours but not the sounds of fireworks.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

I don't want to invade more of his privacy than I already have. ^_^

Lou Reed sings :

'Cause you know what they say about honey bears
When you shave off all their baby hair
You have a hairy minded pink bare bear

Somehow I'm not surprised that you're the one who bothered to figure it out ;)  Yes, it's a little tricky.  I wouldn't quite call it impossible, though. :D

You won the small toss, outlander, but you won't win the race, so...it makes little difference.

Hmmm...just watched it on the news, and now I know what Anctufaalb was thinking.  Earlier stories simply posted pictures, not video.  One picture was taken by my next door neighbor, whose name is indeed impossible to pronounce.  Mine is a little difficult, but not terribly so.  The 5:00 news showed video that actually mentioned my name and showed my good lookin' face.  Sorry to all who missed it.  It was a treat, I tell ya.  I'm better looking than I realized!

Bears need windows to survive?

JEDIT:  I thought that would be the removal of the window.  Never mind.

OK, I now know that the impossible-to-pronounce-surname-man was darth_ender's neighbor.

I finally know darth_ender's IRL name and it's quite easy to pronounce.

I saw Holst's planet suite performed in the Usher Hall three years back by the Houston Symphony and with NASA images projected on a big screen.

It was grand.

Colour me jealous, I would've loved to have been in that audience!
