People in a GFFA sure know how to pack a lot into three years. Nine seasons across two series, plus events from the comics, novels, video games. Talk about time management.

Can't really call it The Clone Wars if there aren't any clones in it. ;)
You can. The name of the war could have a reference to anything. For example, it could be some cloning incident which triggered it. That is how I imagined it when I first watched ANH anyway.
You have a conflict called "Banana Wars" and it doesn't mean bananas were fighting it...
真実
Problem with that is that the idea of troopers as clones has been around since the OT. Never stated on screen, but just like Vader had a little accident with some lava, every kid knew about it.
Where were you in '77?
I don't see any relevance of rumours among kids. If it is not in the film it means nothing.
Certainly there is no evidence that might suggest Stormtroopers were clones. Actually there is strong evidence that they are not.

Whether or not Stormtroopers were intended to be clones is rather peripheral to an army of clones during the Clone Wars.
ah shit, another toon?! There's NO reason why Disney cant make a live action episode featuring events that happened b/ eps3-4. This toon crap is outta hand!

Money.
Someone's a little late to the party? ;)

The lava thing wasn't a rumor. It came from an interview Lucas gave in the 70's, and it went viral amongst the fans.
In any case, some of us kids thought Clone Wars meant clones fighting in a war. Your mileage may vary.

Clone stormtroopers have indeed been around as an idea since the OT, but the original idea was that the clones had been the villains of the Clone War, the guys whom the Jedi fought against. Lucas even told Leigh Brackett this was what happened (and that the clones started a war against the Republic), in the ESB story conference.
Mind you, the Clone Wars at that point were very hazily imagined--they merely provided an interesting soundbite of backstory, and also possibly explained the GFFA's preference for robotics over cloned replacement limbs etc.
In other words, the Clone Wars were very much like the long-ago Butlerian Jihad which is part of the backstory in Dune (the source of so many SW ideas). That was a war in which evil robots attempted to enslave humanity, and after which the victory of humans led to a religious prescription outlawing robots and "thinking machines," i.e. computers (but not clones--an inversion of the SW situation).
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

Only if he has skills with the Force. Otherwise, it would be a pretty one-sided fight.
I'd very much like to see a non-Force using lightsaber weilder who can hold his own against a Jedi. It'd be a refreshing change of pace.
JEDIT: Just saw the image of this new character. It's just another stupid Maul knockoff. God damn this stagnant piece-of-shit franchise.
Good point about a non-Force sensitive fighting a Jedi. That's one of the appeals of Batman; he depends on gadgetry, wit, and training to take down super-powered beings.
The Inquisitor may take aesthetic influence from Maul (what's inherently wrong
It would be cool to see a villain who was neither Sith nor Jedi, but who used the Force in its entirety. No focus on anger or fear, nor a demand that these emotions be removed. More a Sequel Trilogy idea, where Luke would have to face an opponent who defied simple classification.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
Someone strong in the Force who's grown up not being taught by either side, is something we haven't seen before, at least not on screen. (Even in the Old Republic, the Jedi couldn't possibly find every kid with Force abilities.) The closest thing is Desann in the Jedi Outcast game.
I found the whole "too old to be trained" thing a bit suspect, as those rejected would be easily pickings for the Sith, or just go dark side on their own.

Ironically enough (or maybe not), I'm kind of sick of Batman - well, the psycho-ninja, "I'm-so-perfect-I-can't-even-kill-someone-by-accident" Batman of the last decade or so. Give me the Bronze Age/early Modern Age/B:TAS Batman anyday.
The Inquisitor may take aesthetic influence from Maul (what's inherently wrong
The problem is that almost all Sith/Dark Jedi are being designed this way. Be it TV series, comics, video games, or whatever have you, the likelihood of coming across some darksider who doesn't like Gene Simmons or Marilyn Manson with a red lightsaber these days is next to impossible.
I want more Exar Kuns, King Ommins, and Lumiyas, less Space Goths.
I respect your point of view, sir/mam, and maybe the horror look in these characters has grown a tad stale. What if he had been an innocuous-looking Imperial officer?
Then again, I'm going to wait to gauge my final opinion. If his personality traits and fighting style are in check, we're good to go.
I hope you can still watch this new animated series, even though you've been met with some disappointment already.
The inquisitor looks like a mix between the Utapau guy
And an Old Republic's Sith Warrior.
But, except his little facial tattoos and the fact that he looks like a random villain of the day, he does not make me think of Maul.
I like the concept of an imperial "inquisitor".
FWIW, I'm basing the Maul comparision on the double-bladed lightsaber more than anything else.

My beef with the new villain is that he doesn't look so much like a villain so much as the winner of a "Design a Sith" competition. A double bladed lightsaber was a cool novelty. In 1999.

I reckon it's a tribal right-of-passage thing. When one of those guys becomes a man, they have to stick their head in one of these...

I just think Artex.
Fun Fact: Princess Leia got to wield a double bladed lightsaber in Masters of the Teräs Käsi.
Also: The Inquistors have been a part of the EU for a loooong time now.
The Inquisitors actually used to be cool, though, and not a bunch of albino goth clones.
