If indeed Lando is on the hit list... Then I remember discussing this in another thread.... It has further reaching implications that go beyond Lando.

That Falcon could become a phoenix. (symbolism)

And that also cements Leia and Hans relationship.

Han would have to ask about Lando.. with the revelation that he lost his second mistress in the process. Would be tricky to pull off.

Who would shake their head in response to the line "Lando?"from Han probably would have to be wedge.

I actually decided against this though and wen't with a shot of jejerrod shi**ing his pants and yehaaaa!

Someone else could also die in ROTJ even if only temporarily.

The Command center in echo Base.

Things I have noticed.

There is no Background noise in alot of scenes to convey that it is a working hub of operations.

There are people who are pretending to talk on headsets.(for instance when Leia says to a Rebel dude) Send the evacuation code signal. This guy should have a line even if it is quiet and underlying.

There are open Channels comms i.e. Loud speaker communication with the HUB before the battle but not during the battle.

I don't know if it's possible to somehow do something with the command center scenes during the battle to make them feel a bit more connected with what is going on because the scenes have to also focus on their own agenda. But it could be made a lot more realistic as the scenes come across as really fake compared to today's film making techniques. And the command center does not suffer before the battle they are actually fine.

Quiet Background noise like in the link below would go a long way in some of the scenes.

I think when we also get to "This one goes there that one goes there" in the Hanger could also do with more Background noise too of all the troops running around nobody is saying a word in the background.

It's more about conveying urgency and more panic I think but subtle.

I love that people don't get the joke even after it was explained...and that Stewie fell for it.

For the benefit of those who are distressed over this decision

I personally love the idea. I know we had the death of Anakin already, but ROTJ otherwise felt way too safe. I want the original version of "Revenge of the Jedi" where Han dies and Luke walks away into the sunset (or something that rhymes with that idea.)

The current ending is way too happy and safe. I for one applaud this idea, and hope it isn't a joke. I'd even say kill Han off if it weren't for the fact he's in Ep. 7.

well, seeing as how this thread has been somewhat high jacked from ESB:R to killing off Lando, i might as well ask, Adywan, (since I'm assuming he'd perish in the Battle of Endor) if he might be killed at the lowest point of the battle to show how hopeless it seems for the rebels, or if he sacrifices himself to blow up the death star, or if you're undecided (or perhaps just wanna keep it a surprise).

The line "launch Patrols"

A totally different line is mouthed a couple of seconds earlier after leia says "we have no choice" and the audio line is never actually said it is inserted audio.

Does anyone know what the line is Rieekan was actually meant to say via an unedited script???

I guess this has been there since the original theatrical release.

He does actually say launch patrols it's just totally out of sync

It's looking like it will be a sacrifice to destroy the death star. There has been a lot of talking going on behind the scenes and we've been scouring through many of Billy's films and audio to see what sound bites we could use, going through all footage of Lando in the falcon to see what can be trimmed so it could be used in a different scene and, after a few trials, we think we've nailed something that will work.

Sounds exciting :) though i imagine the real trick will be properly portraying the reaction of the others to this (especially Han)

Might I ask how you plan to achieve that?

I'm not that fussed about Lando dying,.....it's just....gulp!...does this mean that the Falcon buys it?.....sob!

......now enough of this nonsense,.....how will this be taken seriously if Lando & the Falcon are in the next episode?

I don't mind the Falcon dying at all.

In fact elsewhere I suggested a scenario where the ship could be destroyed but the cockpit crew survive (by having the cockpit separate from the main hull after a fire like the B-Wing cockpit in Rebel Assault 2).

That way even if it turns up in the sequels it could be explained as being another ship of the same class renamed or the same cockpit plugged into a new main hull.

Still a bit of a downer about the gunners and the various other rebels.

I'm fairly certain Ady was being sarcastic a few posts back.  He has stated numerous times that he won't be changing Lando's fate.

Maybe they launch the cockpit into the core of the deathstar?

It would be more fun having it fly out at the end.

It makes the cheeseball Lando victory cry even more cheeseball.
