I just PM'd chyron.

Thanks for PMing me.

Dang. I didn't know the MKV was THAT close to upload.

Okay, so I'm downloading from multi at my house for the moment. Once I get to the office tomorrow morning (I'm in Central US time), I'll download the rest from there and it should be put on Myspleen fairly quickly.

Also, it's not really about the "glory." I just volunteered because I'm picky about the DEED descriptions and formatting all looking the same and some people aren't particular about that.

I'll leave the Spleen to [chyron]. I'm taking it to the public trackers instead.

While I get the feeling we've generally tried to keep Harmy's DE off of public trackers (like TPB), I also suspect it's inevitable that this will eventually happen. Perhaps it's better to have you, someone following the official forum that we can communicate with, upload it to such places rather than what I'll dub a "rouge fan."

To be honest, I've problem said more on this matter than I should, considering that I'm a relative newcomer (only been around since earlier this year). I'm sure things will work out either way, and I'm just excited to see so much interest surrounding this amazing project!

Thanks again to Harmy & everyone involved in the creation of SW DE v2.5!

All worthwhile projects, for years, have ended up on public trackers. If someone doesn't do it, I will. The material deserves the exposure. We already have an elitist cult status attached to us by folks that don't understand. Sharing helps people to understand what the extremely talented people here can do. After all, we are all Star Wars fans. TPB and 1337x have 2.5 now, by the way.

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

Thanks Harmy! I'm gonna put this on my list of movies to watch at Christmas with the rest of the family - I always enjoy any one of the original three at Christmas!

It's appreciated.

You guys are so cute.  I grabbed the whole thing with jdownloader yesterday, with no captchas to enter, while everyone was waiting for the torrent to be made.

Having an issue and I wonder if it's just me...

In the bar scene, as soon and the pig-nose-guy grabs Lukes shoulder, it skips to an x-wing being destroyed in the trench and continues from there. If I manually skip ahead a bit just before Luke is grabbed, it will continue fine. Is anyone else having this problem? Just me? Any idea what's wrong?

I'm using VLC Player by the way.

@ray_afraid

Yeah, i'm having the same issue with the pig nose guy, but after a few seconds the movie continues. But a few seconds before the conclusion of the Han-Greedo-Scene it happens again and VLC and any other player i used crashes for good.

Don't know for sure if its a mkv related problem, but looks like it, i think.

Actually, the first thing I did was load it up into mkvmerge last night so I could remove all but one audio track to easily stream it across my wireless network. (I still keep an original around because I like the commentaries, etc) While doing so, I had the very first 5.1 track selected and all others unchecked and started the process.  I noticed that the 'time remaining' kept going up about 1/3 of the way through the process and then I saw the error log window.  It kept repeating at a very fast rate:

"Warning: DTS_Header problem: invalid source PCM resolution"

I let it go and it finally errored out after a few more minutes, unable to continue.

So, I unchecked the 5.1 DTS track and went for Track 5, the 93 LD AC3 version because I really wanted to watch it last night.  Well, it coughed up about 5-6 timecode errors during the re-muxing but said that it was able to recover each one, so I let it go.

This is just one of them:

"(filename):Error in the Matroska file structure at position 7508142148. Resyncing to the next level 1 element.
The last timecode processed before the error was encountered was 00:45:37.9020000000 .
Resyncing successfaul at position 7517875330"

I went into our living room to watch on the big screen and at the point ray_afraid mentions above, the screen just blacks out for a moment - then it continues on.  I just thought it was my media box having being glitchy (it's been known to be at times.)

But after I read ray's post, I remembered something happening at that point last night and loaded it up into VLC here on the computer to verify.  At 45:37, I got the black screen at the same point but then....VLC crashed!  Unable to continue playing with just a basic APPCRASH error message.

Maybe we should hold off on putting this out publicly for a moment until the bugs are verified and worked out?

Also, I wasn't going to say anything until someone else did, but I'll mention it because I want to see if it's my eyes, the 3 different screens I watched it briefly on to confirm, or the video but....

When the dinner scene on Tatooine comes up where the cup is sitting on the table that was referred to as green, I slightly noticed the green tinge but let it go because the rest of the scene looked great.  (This happened a couple of other times throughout the movie as well.)

But... continuing to watch, I noticed that it gets *really* green while the Falcon is blasting out of Mos Eisley.  Not the actual shot of the ship flying away, but the interior front shots of the cast are noticeably green, especially when compared to the interior shots from behind them looking out of the viewport.  A few other Falson shots are very green as well

I tried to let it go but as I mentioned, this issue would continue to crop up every now and then during the movie - especially during a lot of the interior Death Star scenes where everything looked a green-ish/gray.

Like I said, I just want to confirm this with others to help out if possible...not to slam Harmy's work, because the scenes that don't seem green to me look amazing.  I had only watched a few minutes of the movie last night before posting how awesome it looked and I felt bad a little bit while continuing to watch it after saying that, but again - there were tons of scenes where everything really shined.

Same problems here at the exact same spot. Tried muxing it through TSMuxer and got an "invalid H264 NAL unit size. NAL unit truncated."

Originally thought it was my Sony BD Player, since it wouldn't recognize more than the first 10 audio tracks, but VLC choked on the very same spot: 45:37. It skips right to 1:52:15, during the trench battle.

My BD player just freezes and goes back to the player menu.

I am able to chapter past it, but it crops out 5 minutes of the movie.

Yep, the 45:37 glitch happens for me as well. I am pulling my torrent.

Thanks for PMing me,  Zer0.

As far as the green scenes, it always bothers me when I watch v2.1 during scene where Tarkin orders them to set course for Alderaan.

EDIT: ...not to nitpick at you, Harmy.

I got the exact same error messages on mkvmerge. Tried stripping all but one of the audio tracks out, with no success.

Woke up this morning hoping to see the torrent available for download, but these minor issues that have cropped up are a major bummer. :(

Author

Hmm, yes, confirmed weirdness at 45:37. VLC doesn't like it and just stops playing. Media Player (built in to Windows) doesn't seem to like it at all, but my codecs may be more out of date on this particular machine. Haven't tried on HTPC yet, or with MPC-HC.

I wonder if there was just a glitch in muxing the source, or if there was something else going on. Other than some minor changes to the video, it's not that different from 2.1, and then of course a boatload more "audio awesomesauce" muxed in to the final file.

In any case, no biggie - I guess we simply hold off on going any further until it's sorted.

I hope whoever put it up on a 'public' tracker can also take it back down until we are sure it's fixed.

Harmy, what happened with these errors?  Are they going to be fixed?

Okay, paused my download. It's most likely a broken file, Harmy needs to upload new one. Happens sometimes.

I think I'm going to play it safe and take a break from the forums for a couple of months to let the bugs get fixed out. I'll return around Christmas time as that is also when Empire Revisited is coming out hopefully both Star Wars and Empire Despecialized will be fixed by then one can only hope so I will see you guys soon.

FWIW: Demux worked fine, but attempting to remux the video errors out on frame 71426.  Got all my files from the original uloz links.  Looks like an encoding error :-/
