The guy who voiced Luke Skywalker in TV dub is Kassai Károly. I made some search and his in the first vid in person (the guy in glasses probably), and in second one voices Jackie Chan (wikipedia says he does). So you have to listen closely to make sure. :P

There's no chance I can get it from that.

EDIT: No need actually - if he only dubbed Luke in the TV dub, then it is it, because they do say his name in the credits.

Now, what versions of the Spa and Fre dubs were on the GOUT?

OK, so here's another little bomb shell for you - I changed my mind about the BD. Seeing as how I can pretty much fill a BD25 with just the film and its audio tracks and subtitles and an animated menu, I decided to leave the bonus material for a separate bonus disc, which will enable me to put more lossless audio on the BD and give the bonus material much more space to breathe. I thought about instead making it a BD50, but doing it as two separate discs should make the authoring much easier and also 2 BD25s are still far cheaper than 1 BD50.

I'm 99% sure there is only one French dub and it was made in 1977.

That is correct. When the Special editions came out, they just hired different actors to fill in the changed/new parts. They left the rest of the dubs alone.

Sorry, newbie here.  I only found out about this project about a month ago, and have been anxiously waiting for 2.5 to be my first time watching one of Harmy's restorations...

Anyway, I was wondering whether Harmy would also release the bonus disc in MKV format, and/or the polished main Blu-Ray release?

And (though I haven't had a chance to check it out) this 1993 LD transfer may be better than GOUT in some frames:

I think releasing the bonus stuff as mkv for those who prefer that format shouldn't be much of a problem but we'll see when we get there.

As for the Japanese dub. Well... There are six different versions:

Well, they don't but do I understand it correctly, the no.2 dub is the one that was on the Japanese 2006 release and it was done specifically for it? I'm pretty sure the dub I have is from GOUT. CatBus?

I'm not sure if that's the case, the list appears to be chronological. "Revival theatres" suggests it's about 1981 re-release. Not sure about the DVD part though, maybe it means 1981 dub was on GOUT.

Does your dub have someone reading crawl text? If yes, maybe the reader says "Episode 4..." in Japanese?

Also, I think your dub is either the first, or second one. 3,4,6 were made for some TV broadcasts, and 5 is on Blu-ray, so it's special edition.

As for the Italian dub, there is also only one, made in 1977 and then reused in special editions. You can check credits if you want to be sure - Luke was voiced by Claudio Capone.

There are two Spanish dubs - one made in 1977, the other in 1997. If you have the track from GOUT, it's definitely 1977 version.

Well, Greedo is dubbed in the one I have, so that means it's either no.2 or no.5 and since no.5 is DVD and BD dub, I guess it's quite save to assume it's no.2, which of course still doesn't conclusively give us a year in which it was made.

EDIT: OK, through some more research, I came to the  conclusion, that it was made in 1978.

The audio options include all three 1977 mixes in DTS-HD-MA format; the original 70mm six-track was recreated by hairy_hen,
the original stereo mix was captured from LaserDisc PCM and fixed up by hairy_hen and the original mono mix was restored
by Belbucus. Also included is an isolated score track, four different commentary tracks and a British commentary
for visually impaired.

The subtitles are stored in an external folder, if you want to watch with subtitles, take your chosen subtitle .srt file from the

"Subtitles - Project Threepio" folder, copy it to the folder with the .mkv file and rename the .srt file to the same name as the .mkv file,

while keeping the .srt extension.  

It's nice to know where all the dubs are coming from. :)

Portugese dub is 1980 Brasilian VHS? I found info that there are two versions, but no info about dates.

Are you putting audio descriptions in track names, or just the text file?

Also, you can add info on which subs are verified, and which are not.

Not 1980, but 1980s, which is what bttfbrasilfan said.

About Spanish dubs - 1980s latino dub was made excatly in 1980 for Mexican TV. You can also check if Castilian one is from 1977, to be sure. Salvador Nájar was the voice for Luke.

The only material to compare is this. :| ESB, Vader's voiced by different guy, so you only have a few words from Luke.
