Harmy, I might have that Partly DeSpec AVCHD. Shoot me a PM as a reminder to check.
Wow, that all sounds really nice, Harmy! Congrats everyone on hitting the 10,000th post and here's to hitting another 10,000...where we should be on SW:DE v3.0 by then. :P

^ Same here. I'm almost certain I have it on an older HD. I'll check this evening unless someone else already has it.
I know this has been covered, but please remind me if the mkv will be identical video-wise to the Blu-Ray.
Yes, the same exact video stream, or that's the plan anyway.
Why don't we just do AC3 for the rest? I figured space would be an issue with the sheer amount of stuff that's going into it, and if the bitrate is high enough the lossy versions will be difficult to distinguish from the source anyway. Lossless for the three main soundtracks is the most important thing and we've got those covered, and I'll put up wavs for everything in another thread for people who want to have those for themselves.

Nice. Be sure to put a link to them in this thread so we know when they're up. I know some of us who'll be grabbing the mkv will want to mux it in ourselves. :)
I can also add those links to the newsletter update when it goes out (if it's before the 6th) - but, no rush.

Yeah, that'd be cool. So do you think you can get the 5.1 DTS-HD and the other 3 mixes in AC3 to me by tomorrow? Like I said, if not, I do have the older versions for those, but it would be cool to have the higher quality encodes for the mkv.
I volunteer to put it on Myspleen. I did so for v2.1.
If you all recall, I was able to download 2.1 from uloz and put it up on Myspleen in very little time. The reason being because I'm using the internet at my office, which is really fricken fast.
Plus, I'm really nitpicky about wanting torrents for the same set to have identical formatting/layouts in their Myspleen descriptions. So if I do it myself, I can ensure that it looks right.
chyron just put a big Ric pic in your sig and be done with it.

That would be greatly appreciated

Yes thank you.
Awesome that you're putting it up on MySpleen, chyron. Greatly appreciated.
Yeah thanks Chyron, I'll seed as long as my ISP data limit allows.
Same here. I'll happily seed it.
And, let me know as soon as you get it uploaded and hopefully I'll be able to add it to the list of download links in the supplemental newsletter about the release.
If not, no worries. At the very least, I can point people to this thread to watch for link or just keep an eye on MySpleen for it.

That's fine, but then you have to send invites to the entire internet so we don't have people asking for invites in three different threads here.

I have bad news for you and everyone else. I haven't had a chance to watch 2.1 yet, and everyone needs to wait for me to do that before they can watch 2.5.
It's a rule.

At this point is 3.0 neccessary? What will be on 3.0 that will be left out of 2.5?

IIRC 3.0 is a placeholder version for if/when better-quality video sources someday become available, which would justify a 1080p preservation.
Also I think Harmy mentioned 3.0 would contain a 3D Jar-Jar in the cantina, which is sadly missing from 2.5 ;)

Harmy could replace shots from GOUT with 35mm scan ones, when they become available.

When setting the languages for the audio files in the mkv, is there any way to distinguish the Castilian and Latino Spanish sountracks? Because "Spa" is for Spanish; Castilian, so is there an abbreviation for the Latino soundtrack?
Harmy, as per your question: in the 2004 commentary, after the Death Star blows up, there are two tracks playing at the same time, drowning out the commentary voices.
What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.
Yes, thank you - that was the thing I couldn't remember - I hope I still have all the files in place to make it an easy fix.
OK, here are the soundtracks that will be on both the MKV and the BD:
Holy crap... :) So this will be more of a 25GB MKV then?
