So, last year I released v2.0 on my birthday. This year I wanted to release v2.5 on this day but it didn't work out, so I decided to do something else to celebrate my birthday and you can find out what in the ESB DeEd thread. :-)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Harmy!!! Now go out and take a much deserved (but hopefully not TOO, TOO long) break from this place… :D
Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday, Harmy!
Thanks for the workprint link. Can't wait to see it.

Aweome stuff. :) Also, what are the odds of the 2.5 release containing a more traditional chapter select? Forgive me if this question has been asked, as I've gotten into this thread a little late in the game.
Yes, I definitely want it to have the same chapter stops as the GOUT DVD.
Awesome.
Happy Birthday.
looking for HDTV of the Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Also HDTV of The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Happy birthday, Harmy! Thanks for helping give new birth to the original version of Star Wars to be enjoyed by a new generation!

Japanese dubs are available on Usenet--both the original theatrical dub (where applicable) and the later home video dub.
The next best thing is wait for 2.5, which I believe should have the home video dubs (could be wrong about that).
yeah I guess you are right I will wait should not be too long hopefully the dubs will be there

Happy Birthday, Harmy!
I just wanted to say thanks to Harmy and the users of this board for their work preserving such an important piece of art. My friend who is just a year older than I (25) has NEVER seen Star Wars (yeah...I don't know how that happens) and I plan on showing him your version next week. I grew up on the 95 THX VHS version and to have something of such high quality without all the perversions of the DVD and Bluray releases really means a lot! I can't wait to see the 2.5 release!
Yikes! Just found out that if you listen to the second commentary track on 2.1, you have to hear the ridiculous new Obi-Wan scream. Took me a bit to figure out what just happened and where it came from!
Just a reminder: Only 3 more days to sign up to receive the all-new Harmy's DeSpecialized Newsletter Edition for the August updates.
All stories & updates are Harmy-approved and are basically just re-caps and highlights of what's happening in the forum threads, including new release announcements such as the new TESB:DE v2.0 Reel 1 Workprint that was just posted on Harmy's birthday.
Once again, this is a *monthly* newsletter and is aimed at people who would rather not continuously follow all 3 threads for updates. So keep in mind that even though you may be a couple of weeks behind on announcements when they happen, you *will* be notified in the next edition of the newsletter.
Here is the link! Send it to your friends and post it on Facebook.

Holy smokes, I have missed a bit! Exciting to hear about further progress, and the 2.0's of the other two!!!
Happy belated b-day, Harmy!
Also cool to see some newsletter action - will pass this along to a couple folks who I think will be interested :) Thanks for putting that together!
This project has taken on new meaning for me.. I'm soon to be a father, and I am so glad that I won't have to resort to GOUT DVDs to my son someday. I'm hopeful that these will be THE version that get played for a good long time, and see no reason why they won't be. The "altered" ones, I just could not bear to show as being what Star Wars is about. There's just no way... so... on that note, I just have to say thank you again for your work, Harmy, and to all others here who've helped, and who've cheered this on, and everyone else who's contributed in any way.

No problem! All friends are welcome.
As I said before, I love what Harmy and the community is doing to preserve the trilogy the way it was meant to be seen and wanted to contribute in *some* way.

It is so cool seeing black hoses, black wires and dirty styrofoam everywhere. I am not sure if I have ever seen the OOT in such good shape other than when I was a wee lad long ago. I think the last time I saw the OT is was the SE on an official Asian VCD set back in '05 or so.
Thank you for the great work! My cousin who caught the Star Wars bug because I showed him the OOT VHS in the 90's just lost his grandfather (and my uncle). I am cooking him up a set of Harmy's discs as well as Q2's Fall of the Jedi run. I am certain he will enjoy them greatly and hope they can cheer him up!
Have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY Harmy.
It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.
