I wish there was some way for me to help out... :-(

yeah, wish there was some tool like they used for SETI, so the community could help with the rendering or share ressources - things Ady and folks need to do by hand are limited to them still ...

I hope we get a very special xmas present this year ;-)

Yes certainly good to hear the final stretch is on... If it does not make it this year then... It would be a shame but I would rather that there is no pressure put on for making it happen that is excessive... Although working under pressure can achieve some things some of the time.

ESB Revisited has had a very long development cycle... I think this has gone in it's favour also... Because it seems that no stone has gone unturned and all has been said everything has been ever so fleshed out.

I actually can not wait to hear the initial plans for Return of the Jedi Revisited and what direction it will take...There will be a good load of dust kicked up when that starts... Now we just wait... Starting that thread now though would be too much of a distraction perhaps....

sure has, its taken longer for this edit than it took to make the actual film..

but i'm positive it will be worth the wait.

It took the CGI modeller longer to create the Empire State for Peter Jackson's 'King Kong' than it took to build the actual skyscraper!

"Adywan's Star Wars ESB Revisited DH-17 Blaster Prop" http://r.ebay.com/uN9oJ5

Check it out!

But why cast the Hasbro toy blaster if you had access to a more accurate replica by MR? Must it not have been easier and cheaper to buy Hasbro toy blasters in the first place?

They are also not the completely correct version of the blaster for Empire Strikes Back.

Honestly, these guns are in holsters and carried by people running a great distance from the camera. I imagine that casting from the toy and breaking the toy getting the mold out would be cheaper than risk breaking the costly "hero" MR replica.

I’m sure it’s a little late in the game for this kind of suggestion, and I don’t know if anyone has already touched on this, but in ANH when Tarkin and Vader let the Millennium Falcon escape so they could follow it to Yavin 4, they dispatched four Tie Fighters after Han’s ship just for show.  Then, in Empire when Vader really wants to capture that ship they still only send a mere four Ties to pursue.  Would love to see a few more tie fighters thrown in the mix during Han’s Hoth escape- at least at the beginning of the chase as a show of serious force by the Empire.  Once Han darts into the asteroid field meteors could simply take out all the extra added Revisisted ships right off the bat.

I wish I could bid on this. This would be cool to have whoever wins this:

And I read this in the description

Master Skywalker said this concerning what we were adding: "That's brilliant! I always wondered where I went." High praise from Luke Skywalker himself!).

That is truly awesome that Hamill himself is aware of and has commented on this project.

This makes me think of certain opportunities for Revisited, possibilities that may not have been thought remotely possible before. If more and certain SW celebs are aware of this project and greatly admire its aspirations, how amazing would it be if some actually would be willing to contribute some of their time (for the Revisited prequels)??

I spoke with Ray Park himself at a comicon last year and he is genuinely a nice guy, fun person to talk with too. I asked and he would certainly love to somehow be in SW again, even if it were as an extra, and I want to believe that this project would be no exception. It could be possible to have Darth Maul as a recurring character for the prequels (something that the prequels lacked, an iconic bad guy that helped drive the story - but sadly, he was underused). If Ady were interested, Maul has this potential and (assuming it's edited so he doesn't die in EP1) he could be one of the orchestrators during the Clone Wars, easily taking the place of General Grievous for one (Griveous could then just be a cyborg captain on the Invisible Hand, nothing more than that).

Ewan McGregor, to re-shoot scenes or shoot entirely new scenes where necessary? After all, he sounds eager to reprise Obi-Wan again.

Hayden could have the opportunity to "redeem" his portrayal of younger Anakin to the fans, under the direction of Ady. The guy can act well enough, but just like with any actor, if given a bad script and uninvolved director, any actor can seem terrible.

Samuel L Jackson wants to be in SW again, he's hoping to be in EP VII (even as a force ghost, I hope not).

At the least, any actor could supply Ady with some recorded dialogue that can be dubbed in the movies too.

I know this idea may sound far-fetched and more like a dream, and I don't know all the legalities and such... but I do believe that if anyone were passionate about something, and SW does have that special place in many people's heart (just look at everything Ady is doing as a great example), there are certainly possibilities...

Wishlist Of Ideas/Suggestions For Improving ROTJ

Yeah, .Mac., I'm pretty sure most of them would be shunned pretty heavily if they actually participated in a fan edit. Might even be in their contract "you cannot reprise this role without explicit written permission by George Lucas." That would keep them from doing commericials in character without it being licensed by LFL, stuff like that.

Besides...the only one worth bringing back is Maul.....as little as I liked him it DOES make more sense to not kill him off in the first episode......and I'm all for anything that replaces Grievous. AND he's easy to fake.....full face makeup is almost as good as a masked or helmeted character.....so no point in chasing after established actors.

Now that I think about it, a bunch of Star Trek actors have been in fan films. But I think CBS is a little more free with things than LFL/Disney would be.

If someone were to use an uncredited sound-a-like for an edit I'm sure that would be as acceptable as any aspect of a project like this.

In theory the sound-a-like could be the actual actor. I personally see that as being highly unlikely to happen and besides after a few decades the actual actor might sound less like their younger self than an imitator anyway.

With Mark there is so much material of Mark of the day in action to work with (two series of radio dramas for example) that I can't see the point of possibly getting him into trouble if indeed that was remotely feasible.

BTW I was making a reference to Dean Stockwell's (John Cavil), "sweetening the pot" ad lib from The Eye Of Jupiter.

Well, let's not waste time thinking about bringing SW actors to work in a fan edit. They can't do that, even if they wanted.

The best thing you could do is to have someone else to play the character in the movie. I always thought that Obi-Wan and Vader duel in ANH could be highly improved because it isn't hard to find someone to play Vader and Obi-Wan is wearing his hood during the fight (new scenes could even shot obi-wan from behind and /or from angles that you wouldn't see his face). I believe something similar could be achieved with Darth Maul (specially if he is using his hood in the new scenes as well).

The rifles are being kept to use on Endor. Don't need the Hoth costumes anymore!
