I wonder how things would have turned out had everyone - after reading the novel Dracula when it was first published - come away with the idea that "Dracula" was actually not a name but a title all vampires used. Probably the idea would have only gained more-and-more prominence until it became holy writ, leading almost all vampire characters in later works of fiction to bear the "Dracula" name along with their own. There would have been a Dracula Orlok, Dracula Blackula, Dracula Count, Dracula Edward, etc.
It would have been so unbelievably fucking stupid.

Dammit will people on this forum stop posting YouTube links to awesome intro clips from 80s cartoon shows! I end up losing an hour browsing YouTube for similar clips! ;-)

Have no idea wether this has been seen before, or discussed? But it's an interesting article.
The only correct order to watch Star Wars is the order of release (preferably skipping the prequels altogether). I think that sticking PT in the middle of OT, as that guy suggested, is stupid.

Imperialscum I've gathered your staunchly anti PT, as am I. But all he was suggesting was a way they could be made sense of for someone new to Star Wars. After all they prequels do exist (albeit, unfortunately) and I think it would be a clever way to utilise them.

I understand that. I did not say that one must disregard the prequels (though I recommended it). I do not see why would anyone want to stick them in-between ESB and ROTJ when (if you really want to) you can just watch them after finishing with OT (as it is intended).
The point I am making is that putting any PT in-between OT is the worst possible combination. Certainly much worse than watching PT after OT or even before OT.
If you have a really good wine and a really crappy one and if you want to drink them both, you should drink one first and then the other. If you mix them you will just ruin the really good one.

So, this is allegedly the first photograph ever taken and it seems to have what appears to be a stardestroyer in it :)
I'm afraid not. The scale is all wrong. It looks more like a Jedi Starfighter:
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
Oh, yeah, you're right.
^^Exactly what I thought.

I've seen pictures of Elvis having lunch with Bigfoot that are of better quality than this photo. ;)
Where is this from?

It's the first photograph taken from nature by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce somewhere between 1826 and 1827.
Oh gosh

It's more that Uncle Owen wore the same clothes (because its supposed to be Tatooine garb). Was he cosplaying as a Jedi, in a post-prequel universe?Hey, it's me. said:

I still can't get over the fact that the Jedi uniforms in the prequels are what Obi-wan wears in A New Hope because its what Obi-wan wears, but no one noticed that everyone on Tattooine wears the same clothes and it wouldn't make sense for a Jedi in hiding to dress like a Jedi.
I don't know but seeing as though he was in hiding, I don't think mingling with the locals was on his agenda. Maybe when he ventured into Mos Eisley to get supplies he didnt wear his robe. Shrug.
Well don't forget, Owen was Obi-Wan's brother. It's mentioned in the novel so i wonder if that part of the conversation was actually filmed? Would be interesting if the rest of the conversation, including the bit about Luke's Mother, ever surfaced.
Well, I don't know how efficient hiding is when you keep the last name 'Skywalker' in Luke's case, and stashing him with your brother isn't the stealthiest idea. Changing your name from Obi Wan to Ben also isn't quite clever enough for the Witness Protection Program to adopt.
