I've wanted to do this ever since I saw this picture of Mark Hamill:

I know. Do you think Mark knew what he was doing when he went to the hairdressers that morning!

Or maybe his barber was a big Star Wars fan and just took liberties. It is spookily Ben like.

While browsing for current Carrie photos I noticed...

..cold shower, cold shower

This is nice...

Hehehe I second that notion, very attractive woman for sure. Which is why I'm always baffled when I hear her in interviews saying she was always worried about her looks and weight. Oh well...

EVERY young woman is constantly worried about their looks and weight.

If they really tried, I am sure they could make a decent future Star Wars storyline that isn't about just "some kid" or a "CW pretty boy". Everybody seems fine with the CW pretty boys of the new Star Trek. And introducing a new young cast worked great for Battlestar Galactica, even if they did give some of them the names of characters from the original show. If George is to be believed, his intention for VII - IX was to pass the torch as far back as when The Empire Strikes Back was made.

Sure, Harrison Ford looked okay in some shots as Indy in IJATKOTCS, but action scenes looked ridiculous. I think Ford looks a lot better in Ender's Game, in which he's playing a much more stationary role. I'm glad he is going to be in it, but I think making them the focus would be a mistake. If they stick with three years between each major film as has been the SW tradition, then we're talking another decade of age on them before it is said and done.

Honestly I would be disappointed if the new trilogy centered on the old guys. First of all, the previous six movies all featured a mostly young cast. Secondly, their stories are over. Sure, you could give them other things to do, but I like the idea that the OT was their central story, just as the PT was for Obi-Wan and Anakin, though they were both in the OT films as well.

I'm sick of hearing people say "I don't Wanna watch a movie about old people!" and using pics of the actors at their worst as examples to back themselves up. Cause, well, I don't wanna watch a movie about little kids!

I'm sick of hearing people saying it's gonna be about a bunch of "little kids." The original cast is how old now? Why would their children still be actual children?

As long as it's not an older Jar-Jar retelling the tale of the Old Republic to little school children it should be ok.  :D

That's actually a very good point. It's not like Lucas has ever embellished (or been completely full of shit about) what his "original intentions" were so I'm sure this is completely trustworthy.

All I really want is each film as it was originally seen and heard in theaters; no fixes, corrections, "improvements" or modifications necessary.

Hamill doesn't look the best here, but there's still time I suppose. :)

Yeah I saw this picture in a 'rag' today and was immediately concerned. Particularly the part where he was spotted fishing a dog end out of a bin and was seen smoking it. Not really the image of someone that's been ordered to get themselves in shape for the beginning of next year? Mind you saying that, he may have been of the mind that, 'well f*** it, another week of being a schlub and then I'll knuckle down.' Who knows?

It's always possible he smoked his own cigarette then opened the bin to carefully put it in the trash. ;)

Hey come on! I want a 'Mark and Carrie' Celebrity Fit Club special, where they're followed round the clock in there strenuous bid to get themselves in shape for Episode VII! Ha ha

Let's keep the sleazy tabloid crap where it belongs.

Mark once commented on how he couldn't even peruse certain magazines at the newsstand, because in the mind of the media and public, it's Luke reading the articles in Playboy. ;)

If the movie pokes at their age too much, it will fail. If it tries to pretend they are not old, it will fail.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Chewie looks too Episode Three-y... the real four look great though!

Damn you! Yes, my eyes had spotted that already, but they weren't gonna tell my brain, so it could pretend that the above photo was perfect in every way! lol

Has anybody been able to explain why PT Chewie looks odd to all of us?

Yes it's another newly made costume. But I can never pinpoint what it is about the new costume that looks wrong.

I could pinpoint exactly what was wrong with PT puppet Yoda... everything!

But PT chewie... not so easy.

I think Episode III Chewie, and the promotional costumes used since then have fur/hair made of synthetic materials, while OT Chewie was made out of wool and Yak hair.
