Well the end of Season 5 was everything ROTS should have been. In a nutshell.

How was the score?
John Williams score to Return of the Jedi Remastered/Remixed:

there was some nice variations on the force theme at the end, as well as ahsoka's theme
Never thought the line "I know" could be better used than in ESB, but it worked very well at the end of the episode, Ahsoka pulled out Anakin's inner thought very smoothly with it.
The score was rather nice too. The last variation of the force theme could be a nice alternative for the order 66 sequence if it covered the whole musical phrase and not just half of it.
Very nice episode, loved the masked guards of the Jedi. Had a strange feeling of series finale though. If the series comes back with a sixth season, how will they manage to reverse all this situation with Ahsoka, which was pretty conclusive?
I don't think they will. She could just go off doing her own stuff much like Ventriss has been. I'm hoping we get clone wars episodes right until ROTS, and maybe even explore ROTS from different perspectives. Then they can always go back and fill out stuff like Grevious' origins.
I'm hoping they consider a post Clone Wars series set between IV and V, or VI and VII. Ahsoka could be the central character throughout either of those.
When we spoke earlier about making these episodes into movies that slot between the existing movies, do you think it would be possible to take this recent storyline and use any necessary parts from old episodes to add to it in order to make it seem Ahsoka is Obi Wan's apprentice and he didn't take her side, so Anakin stuck up for her. When she eventually left the order this would cause Anakin upset and create tension between him and Obi Wan, ready for Anakin's fall in E3.
Possible. There are moments where Obi-Wan gives her orders. If you want to go down that route, maybe just leave it ambiguous and open ended, so its suggested that obi-wan is her master, or was at some point.
I really really want them to continue the series post ep III. Imagine her discovering Darth Vader's true identity much like Luke does? And realising that she might have stopped him turning?
I think they should already be doing a few one off episodes under a different title that could lead into new series, the way the Clone Wars movie lead into this series. I would like Star Wars The Dark Times which would be set between E3 and E4 and then could carry on all the way through to E6 if they really wanted.
As for next season I still think they might kill Ahsoka, purely because there aren't really any characters that are left open in the series. I also think something more will come of Ahsoka's association with Ventress. Ventress has been softening a lot lately, even to the point I thought maybe she was going to end up pardoned.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Dear God, I hope this is not true!
As Obi Wan once said, "I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened."

Well, hopefully they atleast release Season 6, I'd be fine with ending it there, but to leave cliffhangers from Season 5 is not acceptable.
Anyhow, if this is true this might affect the usability of certain arcs like Maul for a film.
For a long time they said the series would end with Season 5 but then Cartoon Network and the producers of the show decided to extend it beyond that because it was so successful. Hopefully, a lot of people are still going off of the idea that they are following the original 5 season plan.
If not, I've always suspected that they would end the series with a feature-length movie that leads into episode 3. I'd like to see one more season to wrap up the series, but I'd be okay with a movie that wraps everything up.
As far as edits, I've often wondered how hard it would be to just edit the multi-part story arcs into their own movie versions. It would probably take some tweaks and adjustments to make sure they flow properly as movies rather than separate episodes, but it might be a worthwhile project.
Oh man I hope they don't cancel it. It was all getting so good!:(

Apparently canceled, but the episodes already in production will be released at some point. However apparently, we'll get a new Clone Wars like show.

arrrrrrghh. why would they do this!!
i guess alot of the story could continue straight after ROTS, like ashoka, ventress and maul etc. but no doubt theyre just trying to put the first 6 episodes behind them and move onto the new trilogy.
well at least we have a good idea what meat we have to play with now for a clone wars trilogy!
So much for the hope of one more full season. I just hope the remaining episodes will at least provide SOME closure to the series, even if they don't lead right into ep III.
Been decorating my flat all weekend, and beating some general fanedit ideas around my head.
What if (and this discounts PT canon) Darth Maul is introduced as Obi-Wan's fallen ex-apprentice? It would require some exposition and dubbing, but could lead an audience to think he is Darth Vader later on, and could provide a motive for his vengeance against Obi-Wan.
Its a real shame we never see Anakin fighting him really, but the whole subplot could get introduced verbally in Ep I, then we meet the guy in II, and the Mandalore plot becomes the climax of III.
I haven't seen enough of the series to make full-fledged suggestions in this thread (and I've actually been avoiding reading most of the comments in this thread to preserve some spoilers), but I have started to feel more and more strongly that a new PT could be constructed using TCW as Episode II. I've mentioned it before so I know this isn't knew, but I would love for others who are more intimately aware of the plots of TCW to contemplate how to complete such a trilogy. I think a few elements from Episode I plus most of Episode II could be pieced together to make a more interesting film, introducing and killing Maul early on, Anakin, Obi-wan, and Tyrannus/Dooku. Episode II could introduce Asohka (and eliminate her, though this is more difficult with the series' end), introduce Grievous, introduce and remove Ventress (another difficulty), develop Anakin, reintroduce Maul, and develop Dooku. It could also better develop the friendship between Anakin and Obi-wan. Episode III could then be an improvement on the current Episode III. I know it would be a drastic change, and while I think I've come to prefer TPM over the other two prequels, it really serves little story purpose and could go. Characters who were seriously underutilized (i.e. Dooku) or underdeveloped (i.e. Grievous) would appear more interesting by the time we got to ROTS. We would already see a Force competent, sympathetic, but dangerous Anakin. Maul could get the treatment he deserves. Sidious's goals with his expendable apprentices would appear more interesting. My only worry is that there would be so much to cram into the new Episode II that likely some of the most interesting elements would in reality have to go (likely Maul, maybe Ventress). I think it's worth consideration. I don't care about the change in visuals between films!
EDIT: Further thinking has led me to even wonder if the first trilogy were actually made into a quadrilogy. Obviously this would mess up the numbering of the later films, but if folks could deal with that, I think one could make an interesting set of prequels.
A bridge film between 2 and 3 is certainly possible, and there are numerous stories which could focus primarily on pre-clone wars characters (So You could avoid having to introduce Asoka and Ventriss). Its really unfortunate that a Grevious Origin story was never explored, as he would be a good character to introduce here.
In terms of tone, Episode 2.5 should effectively be 'The Seperatists Strike Back' as far as they should have the Republic on the backfoot, striking numerous victories etc, making the battle of coruscant seem like the crunch point. Grevious should be terrifying as he is in the Gennedy Tartakovsky series.
I'd recommend using episodes from S02E10 onwards as they have the updated animation quality, and are generally better, although they focus less on the war. The use of dubbing/switched dialogue could be effective too.
I had a go at making a poster for a film based on the recent Maul story as we discussed it earlier.
^Man that must have taken a bit of work!
Is that Satine's face, or did you pick an actress?
It is Cate Blanchett. For some reason I always thought Satine was based on her (despite the obvious Moulin Rouge reference). Plus when looking for photos as a source for this I found out that Ewan and Cate appeared on a chat show together and couldn't resist. I still can't think of a good name for the film though.
