SEGA CD in college? Wow, Fink is old.

The Sega CD and 32X are unfairly reviled. A lot of people that make fun of them either weren't around at the time or have forgotten how advanced they were relative to when they came out. FMV games don't hold up today, sure, but they were a really big deal at the time and really did feel like an interactive movie. I rented the Sega CD for my Genesis many times and the games always impressed me, even the boring ones like Jurassic Park. The gameplay itself was never anything special, it was the presentation value. But then some games just kicked total ass like Final Fight CD, Sonic CD, Lunar, Snatcher, Silpheed, Microcosm, Mortal Kombat 2, and Rebel Assault.

I just hope their R&D did as much as they're hyping. Sure, interpolated sound is cool, but will it have a better NOAC? Still waiting to play SMB on a clone without it sounding like this (at :50).

Looks pretty awesome, not sure why the controller has a microswitch analog stick when none of the supported consoles ever had one. You can use the original controllers of course, it just seems like a very random choice for what looks to be an otherwise well designed system.

Microswitches are not analogue - they're either on or off. More reliable than traditional leaf switches or contact pads.

Both named Fink?  Fink 1 and Fink 2?

Now there are two of them!

They're brothers and Fink is their last name... so it's not too weird.  But even if it were, it wouldn't be weird in this game.

So, what do you think about the theory of the Star Fox team having prosthetic legs?

xhonzi! Y U No discuss Infinite?

Also getting back into RDR in a big way, especially trying to complete free roam challenges. Anybody got it and want to posse up?

It's too bad that Fives thinks he's too cool for gaming these days.

We don't even have RDR anymore! :-(

Look at his legs. I've heard they use prosthetic legs to keep blood from flowing to the legs in high g-forces, but I've also heard that the legs are somewhat of a tribute to puppet shows like the Thunderbirds.

Wow. I hadn't heard anything about it until now.

It seriously looks like one of the craziest, coolest things ever. The fact that the ever awesome Michale Beihn does the voice acting for the main character makes it even more incredible. It is a stand alone arcade game and not dependent DLC. I have hardly had any time to play games at all lately and am still working on finding the time to beat Infinite, but it is tempting to get this.

Started playing Skyrim again. By which I mean that I started over, but since I didn't really ever play it, basically I'm playing Skyrim for the first time.

I have RDR.  I haven't done any multiplayer and I decided to give it a break after finishing Mexico.  I was really enjoying it, but I felt it starting to wax off...

I'd be willing to posse-up sometime.

Flashback (also known as Flashback: The Quest for Identity) is getting a HD remake. I loved playing the original as a kid, maybe this'll be good. I'm pretty pissed of though that there isn't a PC version of this coming out, are they deliberately trying to piss me off? Grrrr...

I replay all of Flashback every 5 years or so.  It still holds up.  I played the Sequel- Fade to Black- once.  I remember it being decent... but I don't suppose it would hold up nearly as well.

Not sure if the 3D works, but I appreciate the attempt. Would much prefer someone remade Out of this World aka Another World. Would work well with modern graphics or cell-shading and it's the same sort of style.

There was an official 15th anniversary Windows XP edition, if you haven't seen it. They upped the res up to 1280x800. It's pretty nice, I've played it.

Fade To Black was a bit of a hit over here.

It was seen as being in the Resident Evil mode (though it came out slightly earlier as I recall) only not as good and with aliens.

I didn't buy the game but it but that's how I remember people reviewed it.

Then Resident Evil 2 and Parasite Eve 2 came out, by the time Dino Crisis came out it wasn't much talked about.

I've been tempted to get it once in a while but too many games, not enough time.

I remember being somewhat disappointed with Fade To Black. There was something about Flashback being a platform game that somehow worked that I remember thinking was lacking given that the sequel was a third person shooter. It's been a while since I played it though, I was about ten years old the last time I gave it a spin. Maybe I'll get it out of the box full of old games in the attic and give it another go.

If there was ever a game that I wanted to be made into a film, Flashback was a strong contender. I watched Outland recently and for some reason that film gave me a real Flashback vibe. (That and also Blade Runner, They Live and Total Recall)
