I know it either is coming up soon or has already passed.  Anyone know exactly what day the forum opened?  I know it was in 2003.

Well, Jay's join date is shown as 22nd February 2003, so it's reasonable to assume that was when the forum opened.

Darn, if that's true, it means the 10th anniversary passed and we didn't even acknowledge it.    : (

Holy crap. I've been here for more than half the site's existence. Kind of puts things into perspective for me. When I first joined I thought there was a crazy amount of activity in the preservations section. OCP was banned by the time I showed up, but his works were still well-regarded -- as were the TR47/Cowclopsv2 LD transfers. I still find it ironic that works like Harmy's have become more prominent, but I am certainly not complaining.

This is one of the few forums I've frequented that's still active and around. Cheers to you, OT.

Slightly before my time. It's still not to late to pick an official date and throw a party.

I've sent a PM to Jay himself to ask him exactly when the anniversary is/was.

The millennium actually happened on New Year's night 2001 so maybe you can make a big thing of it next year.

^Well, that's because Jesus was born in A.D. 1, not 0 C.E. (which is actually 1 B.C.).  And most scholars will tell you that he was actually born in 4 B.C.  But hey, who's counting?  I guess with such lax timekeeping, we could celebrate the 10th anniversary at almost any point!

When I first showed up we still had the rankings based on post count, so you had some of the old regular members who were very proud of their post counts and would compete, I seem to remember talk among them about how they would have had a higher post count, if everything hadn't been lost in a forum software upgrade. Ring any bells Warbler? That would explain why the first recorded post is from December 2003.

My C3PX account joined in 2005, but I had another account as early as late 2003 or early 2004, I can't even remember the username of it, I never made a single post with it, just lurked.

I remember all the talk about post counts in the rankings thread.  I remember people talking about stuff getting lost, but I remember it happening.   I created my account, made a few posts,  but then didn't come back for a while.   That may have been when the stuff got lost.

High post counts are lame.

it was fun though.  ah, the good old days.   The Rankings Thread

Joke missed.

I refuse to read any of my old posts. They are quite painful to me.

The 10th Anniversary depends on what you consider our go-live date.

This teaser went live in June 2002:

The original petition and forum went live on March 10, 2003:
http://web.archive.org/web/20030329102201/http://www.originaltrilogy.com/

My forum join date is a couple weeks prior to that because I installed and tested the old software before the launch.

I'd say the 10th anniversary is tomorrow.
