Well, I just created my own DTS-HD MA 5.1 track using your lossless files. I muxed it to Harmy's 2.0 MKV and I'm happy to report that this kicked ass.

It's about 1.76 gigs. Sure thing, I'll rar it and upload it for you. When I get back home I'll PM you.
It's actually a pretty simple program to use. You just plug in the lossless waves, make sure the setting is set for DTS-HD MA and click encode. Ten minutes later and you're set.

Well that's what I use and is very convenient, though my only gripe is that I have to disable my internet everytime I encode since it seems to refuse whenever it's on.

Such are the side-effects of using a serial from a keygen program. I'm sure if you contacted DTS-MAS support (or sales), you could work around that little issue...

The DTS-HD Master Audio Suite. Like I said before, very easy to use program.

That is correct. And from Daizex, to ADC and now here, huh? I've ripped the SUP files by the way, just haven't had time to upload them. I should be able to tomorrow.

hairy_hen, are you still going to do an alternate version for star wars? You said awhile back that you might do one that adds in some elements of the '93, '97 and/or mono mix. It would kind of neat to hear the different Aunt Beru voice or "close the blast doors" along with your great 5.1 mix.
Yeah, like we need any more mixes for Star Wars ;-)

Being a fan of the films' scores, I also made alternate versions containing a few music edits to bring them closer to the way John Williams originally composed them. These mixes are identical in every way to those listed above, except that the cue for Boba Fett's departure from Bespin in ESB is replaced from the '97 SE, and the deleted music for Ben's scene on Dagobah has been inserted into RotJ. I myself am rather fond of the way these edits sound, but if they're not to your liking, no worries--that's what the other versions are for. ;)

That actually sounds strangely cool... Although I nominate C3-P0 for the Spanish lines.
A recreation of the mono mix in 2.0 is something I tried to do years ago and failed miserably at. :<

Hairy_Hen, I LOVE the 5.1 mix, but I'm having a slight problem with it and I was hoping you might be able to give some insight.
On my home tv I have a digital optical out running to my soundbar 5.1 config, and on the opening fanfare of the movie....I get silence instead of the first chord.
A few second later the music kicks in like the speakers are just getting input and catching up.
Can you tell me if right before the music starts is there ANY sound? Even some room tone white noise? Or is it dead silent on the track?

It is fairly well known on this forum that the 1993 Definitive Collection laserdisc soundtrack comes the closest, since it was sourced directly from the 70mm printmaster. But because of numerous added sound effects (some of which are worthy additions, while others prove more distracting), it occasionally leaves the listener with the feeling that they are not hearing the film's "real" sound mix.
this may have been answered here or elsewhere but what about the audio of the widescreen edition: are they untouched and represent the original theatrical mixes?
That has the 1985 remix; it is not the same as the original 35mm Dolby mix but is possibly derived from the original 4-track master.
