Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist — Page 333

Luke burns Vader.....we cut to the party....everyone having a good time....Leia looks off in the distance, and walks off to investigate, Han, Chewie and co. follow her. We see Luke walking away from the funeral pyre, Leia walks up to him...they share a few words, maybe Leia tries to get him to come join the party...everyone else arrives just as Luke makes it clear that he'll be leaving. They all say their goodbyes, and Luke turns and walks towards his X-Wing, R2 wheels after him dutifully....but Luke notices, stops, bends down and speaks to him then rises again and walks away. R2 stays for a moment, watching Luke go, then turns and heads back to stand next to Leia, his new owner, and 3P0, his friend. Cut to a shot of Luke in the cockpit of his X-Wing....he smiles, we know everything is going to be ok, he takes off.....Han & Leia & co. rejoin the party. Last shot is either of the party, or of Luke's X-Wing flying towards the camera with Endor behind him. All or most of this would be sans dialogue, with music in its place.

This would have been GOLD......but sadly....we got the group portrait.

In the radio version they don't have the cash and Han takes precious metals needed for parts, over the protests of the Rebel leadership.

Presumably in the non-bonkers world outside the EU he doesn't get kidnapped by Crimson Jack and has his reward stolen.

          Should the probes launched from the SDs at the start of ESB go into hyperspace and then drop out near Hoth?  It always seemed to me that the SDs were quite close to the Hoth system and planet.

Sorry but even my acronym meter has broken.

I read SDs as STDs and it came out as a totally different proposition.

With Ady announcing that he will beginning production on ROTJ:R in the very near future, what do you think is a must change/fix?

Add Lightsaber burns to people on sail barge fight. I want to see Luke's weapon do more than just a baseball bat.

We still have a carefully drawn up summery of the highlights of the early pages.

Though Angel running off with his crayons has taken away some of the illustrations.

Sorry if I don't go through 300+ pages to see if this has been suggested or not, but if we're going to keep the ROTJ group portrait shot, can we at least have Lando clap with the same damn rhythm as the music?

That line from Bib Fortuna, "Bargain rather than fight? He's no Jedi." doesn't really make sense.

Surely the Jedi have a reputation for negotiating first and only fighting when necessary.

It would make more sense if he said something like, "Bargain rather than fight? He certainly sounds like a Jedi."

He would probably keep the same tone of disdain.

It would also bolster the idea that Luke has become stronger in the Force since we last saw him.

Since it's not subtitled, I never knew what he said.  All I understood was "Master, bargain blah blah blah. He's no Jedi."  I thought it was an attempt at an alien language with lots of recognizable words.  Shows what I know.

Alternatively you could add a subtitle and have Bib say, "Master bargain don't fight, he is a Jedi".

That way it would underline that Fortuna is A) thinking about lining the pockets of his master and B) thinking about reducing the risk of death to his master.

However that would make him sound too smart to be weak minded.

So maybe, "Master don't bargain, fight, he's no Jedi".

That way Bib sounds stupid enough to be weak minded, it underlines the believe that all Jedi are extinct and that this child looks too young to be one.

Best of all, "Take his money then kill him, he's no Jedi".

As far as the subtitles are concerned...

Personally I had always heard "IS no Jedi"...pronounced "eez"...like someone of another language trying to say "Is not a Jedi"....but using the wrong words....OR perhaps an alien language sounding similar to English in some ways.

It is the "official" translation but it doesn't need to be.

You could put any subtitle you like over it ergo my suggestions.

It's pretty wide spread as official explanations go so adding a subtitle stating something different (which makes more sense) would send out the message that it might mean that in George's version but here it means something else.
