The Spanish and German dub that are muxed with the mkv unfortunately are out of sync. Fixed tracks are available on Tehparadox and Usenet. Maybe Harmy can update the first post accordingly.

I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but is the included mono mix the one from The Mono Mix Restoration Project?

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

FYI, the complete Project Threepio has pre-made SUP files for muxing onto DVD and Blu-ray.  No scripting required.

Then what are the .pl and .dll for?

They are included with the project in case people want to make alterations to the subtitles or add new languages.  I think Harmy just included them because he wasn't sure what they were for.  Take a look at the README file to see more about the project, it specifically says you shouldn't ever need to use the scripts under normal circumstances.

Take any more Project Threepio questions over to my thread, please (link in my signature).

Unless something changed, I believe Harmy used the mix from that project, as created by Belbucus several years ago. Negative1 has been posting some tidbits in that thread about a new lead on the mono mix, but that's not done yet.

Thanks for this, Harmy!

My first impression is that it's strange to see the hyper-detailed hi-def video with the more muted 70s color palette.  This will require more watches.

What I was however planning to do was make a little documentary for the BD, explaining what the DeEd is and maybe upload that to YouTube when it's done. It would explain the most important parts of the OOT issue and how the general public is being deceived and misled into either not even knowing there was any earlier version of it or at least thinking the original versions had cardboard cut out spaceships and stuff and how the DeEd can be used to educate people about this issue ;-) Covering my ass a little there but at the same time I believe that it is true.

I'm not sure it would be a good idea to put that on youtube. It might be seen as essentially a commercial for DeEd 2.0, and LFL does not take kindly to people "promoting" their unauthorized works.

But just to be clear, the documentary itself sounds awesome, and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I was thinking something similar, I would really hate to see Harmy get in any trouble for the amazing work he has done.

Got my AVCHD done and it looks amazing. Left out most of the audio options just for personal preference. All I need is Hairy Hen's, the 2 channel and mono 77' audio. I can't notice any shift in video quality from the MKV on my 720p TV.

EDIT: For those wanting to do the same. I used a program called AVCHDcoder (a quick google search can yield the download link). Load the MKV file into the program, select which audio streams you want to use, select the output size (I chose Dual Layer), select the output folder and let it do its thing. Mine took around 7 hours to finish but the results are very nice and can be burned to dual layer dvd.

Thank you for this tip, I may have to try it out!

Yeah I pretty much agree with this.  I don't know how much Lucasfilm is aware of these projects but it seems like it would be better to keep them under the radar.

Thanks for the info. I was really wondering because when torrenting v2.0, it caused rejects from torrent websites. I'd be very interested to get them once the update is ready. Thanks in advance.

Harmy, PHENOMENAL job!!! Man....wow....you're a prince :)

Btw...I know it had to be mentioned but the search function on this site is shit. What's going to be on the Blu-ray version?

You may want to try using Google to search this forum. Try using site:originaltrilogy.com XXX.

XXX would be, of course, your query.

I'm doing this right now.  It's a shame that the max # of audio streams is 3- ideally I'd have the Hairy Hen mix, 77 stereo, 77 mono, 93 stereo, the 2 isolated score tracks, and the 93 commentary track.

Anyone remember different camera angles from ROTJ?

Except of course if he's looking for XXX... though I think OT.com doesn't offer much in that area XD

Also today I got my Blu-ray recorder, so I'm going to make a first test disc of the MKV using multiAVCHD. I guess I'll make something fancier with Encore some other time.

I just watched this and I'm absolutely stunned!  I loved your version 1.0 release, but this is just on a completely different level.  I'll be hosting a viewing party this weekend to spread the joy to all of my OT-loving friends who've suffered with the GOUT DVDs thus far.  Faces will likely be melted :).  I can't wait for the Blu-ray release!  In fact, I recently built a new PC and included a Blu-ray burner just for De-Specialized 2.0.  Awesome, incredible, outstanding work here Harmy!  Thank you!

I watched it today and all I can say is wow, what a project and what a release!

First, when I saw the bright stars in the opening scene after the opening crawl and the bright despecialized laser blast when the imperial ship hunts the Tantive I knew that this one is something special.

Then the whole thing impressed me, Harmy you really have a big talent on these movie restoring things IMO.

Harmy, I'm your fan!!!

Thank you!

The official AVCHD version should be available in about a week. This version will be encoded from the lossless source used to make the MKV, using a meticulously crafted script fitted directly to the needs of this particular film and will produce quality that simply cannot be matched by some one click automated software (if you don't believe me look at the video quality - not colour and such but detail and compression- difference between v1.0 and v2.0: 90% of that difference is due to a better encoding process; The better source is only like 10% of what makes the quality better).

The situation is very similar with Chewtobacca's DVD5 - no automated one-click software can hope to match it in quality.

Please consider this before doing your own re-encodes.
