That's great news, Ron old chap.  Can't wait to see it.

So I was thinking, if the Ewoks are made to sound more dangerous, I guess we're going to need to redub their voices.  This gives us an opportunity to alter their language, but it also might mean we will have to redub C3PO when he is speaking Ewokese.  This got me thinking about how I never much cared for his interpretations as they sound like an British English speaker saying a bit of gibberish.  So the question is, should we redub C3PO's lines, particularly Ewokese lines to match the tone of the Ewoks themselves?  I can do a decent impersonation, I feel, and you can check my impersonations to see for yourselves.  Maybe someone can do better.  Anyway, if we do start dubbing and find my voice or someone else's acceptable, we actually are then given a great deal of leeway in storytelling, as just a few changed lines can drastically alter a story.  Perhaps we can do more than has already been suggested.  Am I the only one who does not care for Threepio's interpretation?

As for the Ewoks themselves speaking, I guess we could all pitch in a bit on the voices, as long as we sound not so cute and have a consistent sounding "language."

Anyone who is interested seeing the rough cut I made can contact me via PM and I will send you the links it contains many references to the script aswell as some of my own ideas.

That's pretty cool sounding, fishmanlee.  The timpani drumming certainly adds a lot of tension.

Ron, I've got it downloaded, but I won't be able to watch anything till later, but I'm not sure when.  It will probably take me a few days to get through it.  The rest of this week is murder for me.

As long as people are posting cuts and such, I thought I'd post what I just finished last night - a mockup for Anakin's ghost appearing personally to Luke, and not with Obi-Wan and Yoda:

PERFECT.

That is flippin' awesome, aalenfae.  You've brought what I think is a brilliant idea to life.  Of course I still hope we can talk you into doing a version with a Sebastian Shaw head, but again, I think your video makes for a very emotional ending.  I hope everyone else sees it the same way now.  That really is an awesome vid, and I personally feel it would be the ideal way to end the Star Wars saga.

Can't we have this AND then have all the ghosts at the Ewok Party? Young Anakin here, Old Anakin there? Y'know? Cake? Have it? Eat it? Y'know?

If you are serious (not the question that makes me wonder, but the way you ask it), it does seem a bit like overkill...on the other hand...

That may not be so bad either, especially the old and young versions both shown...but I'm still not so sure.

To me, the advantage of showing Anakin at the funeral (now placed as the very last scene for those who have not followed this thread long) is that Luke gets to see Yoda and Ben and feels, "Hey, there are those two guys I always knew were good role models and father figures...Nice to see them again."  Then at the funeral pyre he burns his father, unsure about his eternal fate--but then he sees his daddy's spirit!  "Oh wow!  My dad truly did redeem himself.  I thought I saw the last of him on the Death Star.  But now I know he's good to go."  It just seems like too much to show both IMHO.

Good work alanfae... It's well executed how you put the flames on Vaders mouth I really liked that touch... Although I think you put the wrong anakin in but you see for me that bloke from the PT is an imposter so I'd like to talk you into doing a sebastian shaw too but I don't expect you to. Thats what I don't like about the anakin force ghost as dominic previously stated in the thread before it's not even about who it is it becomes who it was / when and why it's been changed there is so much division over the matter....

but none the less great work the way the idea has been executed is great.

Dude, it's Star Wars. I want it heartwarming and blatant. And no, that wasn't sarcasm XD

Okay, let me reason it this way: it's confusing.  Somebody who didn't follow our project would think, "What the heck?!  Why are there two shots of Anakin?"   Furthermore, it detracts from the emotion of the final scene if he is already seen, IMO.  Instead of more heartwarming feelings, I believe I would feel less.  It's an interesting idea, and I really did put some thought into it, but I just don't think it would work.

Okay, then I guess I'm for Sebastian Shaw

I hope I'm not coming off as rude.  It just makes more sense to me.  I always appreciate your input and ideas and I'm not trying to run them over.

it's a tricky one what ever the decision is you are screwed with anakin force ghost but the safest bet is to keep it as the person it was originally intended upon it's first release

I think D is right that you cannot have both young and old as you would essentially be pissing off both sides on this matter as opposed to trying to keep people happy it would have the reverse effect

I got rid of him alltogether which again could be construed as upsetting both sides but I hope that people will understand the reasons behind it.

Ok that gave me chills... I like the new and original thinking. It reminded me a bit of that Star Wars Tales comic where young Luke and young Anakin briefly met. That one gave chills too....

May the Force be with you.

Watching Ronster's cut now, and I have to admit there are interesting ideas there.  While I personally want to keep the opening the way we already have it, I really like what Ron did with this one.  Very exciting, fast paced, and informative in that it tells us how the Rebels get the plans.  Again, not my preferred opening, but a well-thought alternative.

I'm at the Battle of Endor now, and I'm wondering where Ron got some of the Rebel commando footage!?  This sort of thing would truly be helpful and save us some work if we can find decent size quantities of it.  Ronster's shots were very brief, but potentially useful.  Hoping for more.  I'm going to keep watching.

Interesting cut, Ron.  You did good work.  I am already putting your new opening and the worms in the sand up for vote, and many of the other ideas you incorporated were already voted on and/or incorporated into the script.  Again, is there anything you want me to put up that I didn't think of?

Too bad I didn't see anymore Rebel footage.  I did send an email out to a guy who was making a fan film (now apparently on hiatus) that included commandos to see if he has anything useful he might be willing to share.  Awaiting a response.

Guys, I think the hardest parts of our edit would be the actual filming of new material.  Therefore I want to keep my eyes open for new footage we could use instead of filming our own.  Anyone interested in seeking out new stuff would be appreciated.

Saw this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jw_VPREHnpY

It has a bunch of dudes in Fett armor, set in a forest.  It occurs to me, as I'd mentioned it long ago, that it would be more interesting for Boba Fett to try and take out Han on Endor.  I don't know if this could be worked into our plans, but it just keeps me thinking.  I really feel like that would be the most fitting fate for Fett (alliterative fun!).  Still pondering, and I think there is something that could actually be made useful here...

Sorry but smirky smoke Skywalker isn't doing it for me.

Surely there is better footage of Anakin (even Hayden) also Luke looks far from happy to see him.

yeah I kept that one quiet :) It is only a place holder but it is from Tydirium the fan film teaser these guys are from germany so perhaps they could help get some shots done as they did pretty good costumes for the rebel commandos.... Although this has been in production for years

Glad your doing it all in one hit! This is was what I was hoping people would do to get the bigger picture... The opening again is more or less a placeholder although a big one very hard to do that with what I was working with but seems so far you are enjoying it :) and that is what I wanted to achieve somthing people could enjoy as a whole idea and not just a bunch of ideas... The ending needs touching / tightening up like I said I ran out of energy but I hope it puts a smile onto your face :) either way.

I have you to thank D for the inspiration on adding Jejerrod but I did it totally different for some reason I keep standing up at the end of space battle and wanting to go wooohoo!

edit: ok I did stand up and go woohoo! but keep it quiet

^^While I agree that it would be better to use Shaw, I personally feel that Luke looks emotional.  He's surprised at the outset to see him (to me, it looks like Luke is gasping a bit), and after Anakin disappears, Luke looks to have a feeling of assurance on his face.  He's not thrilled, per se, but he feels satisfied.  That's the emotion I get anyway.

Very cool, Ron.  I'm doing some downloading to see if there is more we could use from that source.  I swear, if we can just cut some corners, it could save us months of work.
