I dunno if this is a good idea or not, maybe not... but I wonder if there wouldn't be a way to add a small scene at the end before Vader dies... I wonder if its possible because we'd need someone who could do the voice of him.

After he's killed the Emperor and throws him down the chute...I wonder if we couldn't add a line "I have one more thing I must do."

We cut back to the battles and then we return to find vader sitting in his Black and white Ball thing. He turns to face the view screen, which could say something along the lines of "All sub-space channels Open."

To which he begins to speak a speech as we cut throughout the Galaxy.

"Your Empire has failed you. Your Emperor has oppressed you. But no more! The Emperor is dead. Your Empire is hereby dissolved and the Republic Senate is reinstated. The age of the Jedi will return."

Then we cut to the rebals flying into the death star, perhaps oblivious to it and destroy the Reactor. or they hear it on the speaker but its too late, they are going to finish the job.

This would seemingly build up a sort of...three step climax. First the death of the Emperor which is then bookended by the speech, then the destruction of the Death Star, and then the final Celebration at the end.

I think it would add a nice touch to the film. You could easily reuse old footage and it would only need someone to do the speech over it and the replacement of the view screen seen in Empire and some smart sourcing of shots from the other films to show everyone hearing it.

This would also explain how the entire Galaxy knew instantly tha thte Rebals had succeeded lol

Vader wouldn't have that authority.

But he could order a cease fire and retreat, maintaining the pretense that he holds a military position.

I'm not sure if anyone could do James Earl Jones like James Earl Jones though.

Yea I wondered that... unless we could recruit that ChadVader guy lol

True... and my thought was in the celebration they tear down the statue of Palpatine and are harassing a storm trooper so I always assumed the Empire had been effectively dissolved. But something along those lines announcing that the Emperor is dead ... it wouldn't and shouldn't be a long speech but perhaps something just saying the Emperor is dead...

I assumed it was the way it was depicted in the EU. (Up until all the Palpatine clones, of course.)
It was a major blow to the Empire, all their leaders were dead, propaganda disaster, they lose Coruscant, etc.
In other words, the conflict is no longer exciting enough to depict in the movies, because the Empire is basically waiting to be mopped up or get a new mastermind leader (like Thrawn.)
Darth Vader getting on the PA system and telling everyone that it's over seems a little redundant, not to mention abrupt with all the emotional payoff going on.

I was just thinking it would be a way to redeem him further... it's almost like an apology. I'd say Luke could do it, but that would be even harder...

oh well lol just an idea I had :-p

Now that I've thought of it though... it could be some random voice over... almost like a montage... you have all those shots of the ships flying into the core of the Death Star... you could cut between that and shots of planets around the galaxy with someone on the com saying

"Attention all Citizens of the former Galactic Republic: Your Emperor is dead! His weapon of death is in ruin!"

or is that cheesy?

As as being said, have him call a cease fire... that would be rather moving actually

It would go some way to redeem him if he called a cease fire and retreat as it would save lives on both sides.

Especially with the station about to go boom.

I don't think Vader has the strength, at that point, to do any of this, and I think it would distract from the more important events of the story.

I love those Jedi Starfighter concepts. Very OT, and very stylish.
But wouldn't it be better to include already existing canon ships? Like Z-95's, 170's, V-Wings, and Naboo Starfighters?

So I submitted a PM inviting the sub-team to the new forum.  Somebody didn't yet receive it, because somebody's PM box is full.  The invitees are:

Angel, aalenfae, Jaitea, GoodMusician, Johannus, emanswfan.

If you did not get a PM, let me know somehow, and free up your inbox or give me your email address.  Others can get invited down the road, but the purpose is to keep conversations from being too complex.  I will provide all with the url soon.

Well not once do we go inside a Tie-Fighter.

We do all throughout the Tie Fighter vs. Falcon battle, and death star battle in ANH.

Sorry, I meant in ROTJ we don't see inside a cockpit of a tie fighter.... Should have explained myself better.

Just think it would bring it back to it's roots more, like bring it back on track a bit

What is the quality of the stuff like on 3D-SCI-FI site anyone rendered any of these and see how they look up close and what is good enough?... If it's not is retexturing a possibility or re-skining?

OK Darth Ender I was reading your script and what you have in mind might just work... Although it's different to my vision I think you are slowly moving towards somthing more cohesive and that is good... But when I saw you want to let Bobba Live I just think that there is no point in letting him live apart from his current death is crap so I know it's tough call but it was a shock to see that comment.. But well done and good work assembling all this infomation on the script.

There will be major divides on Ideas remember that you can never please everyone, and the majority is not always right either. The even bigger question is does democracy even work films are made by dictators aka directors but I think perhaps after the second round of voting it should wrap on that and do what any other party that gets voted in does i.e. whatever they want lol

It depends on who models it. Usually, the quality is very high on Sci-fi 3D. I just downloaded a Naboo Stafighter, and I'm re-skinning it to look Rebellion. These could really work for even very up-close shots.

I think the main goal is it needs to look used... add a bit of carbon scoring in there... Like it's seen some action *hint* *hint* ok no hints just make it look like a heap of junk

That's a good model to use. I'm sure with more thorough lighting and rendering, it would be perfect to use in the movie.

I'm not sure the Home One model on Sci-Fi 3D is quite as good as this one, though.

It's good to know that this resource is there, I am glad because I guess It can help make things alot easier for everyone or a place to start atleast and not having to start a model from scratch, although that may be an option if you feel it's not good enough or simply wish to increase detail or re-skin.

I guess some may need correcting too like they might not animate quite right perhaps.... Do the B-wings and X-wings have animation on their wings? or just a solid model?

They have the Text scrolls on their too pretty neat site for resources

@alanfae it's ok because Home One would not go into the thick of battle so the cruisers will suffice, the shots of home one are already enough probably?

As far as I know, the fighters are not rigged to be animated. I downloaded an X-Wing once, and there was no file with rigging for animation. It wouldn't be hard to do, though.

Concerning Home One, wouldn't it, though? Like in the movie, we see it fairly close to the fighting, like when Admiral Ackbar tells them to concentrate their fire on the Super Star Destroyer.

Yes, I would hope it would be heavily involved, even directly attacking the Executor.  I think it would be cool to see such a mano a mano assault between the two flagships, and it seems fitting as well that Home One would have a hand in bringing the Executor down.  Plus, Ackbar's view of the Executor losing control looks pretty darn close anyway.

Most of the modellers there have incorporated all moving joints....Lambda Shuttle...X-Wing, and B-Wings
