Hello and a couple of tech questions

First off hello. I am an aspiring editor and found this site. Lot useful info here so I decided to sign up.

I have downloaded the bittorrent of SW Revisted. Loved it naturally. But I am having problems buring it to dvd. I have been using winfx to convert it MP4 and then try to burn it using wondershare dvd creator.

What happens is the aspect ratio isn't right, I get a degradation in video quality. The dvd plays fine in the drive but when I put it in the dvd player the video and audio are sped up so that the characters all talk like they're Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Also, I'm not able to burn the menus from the orginal torrent which are awesome. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I need better software? Do I need to convert in a different format etc, etc?

Thanks

Torran

You need to tell us what format your downloaded arrived in. Torrent uploaders may sometimes carry out their own conversions before uploading.

Ideally, you'd want to find Adywan's original DVD9 as an ISO file. This can then be burned straight to disc with ImgBurn , no conversions necessary.

Thanks for the input. I downloaded the dvd9 version, extracted it and it came out almost perfect. One of the deleted scenes was corrupted but I can live with that. Everthing else was corrected.

Thanks again.

the problem you have with the corrupt video part is that you extracted the ISO file. Your best way would have been to use IMGBURN (google it, its a free burning program). when you run the program select "write image file to disc" and select the original ISO file, pop in your DL DVD+R, set the write speed to 2.4x and burn the disc. If you need it to fit onto a DVD-5 (Single layer) then just run the whole thing through DVDShrink. yes you will lose some quality but it will still be better quality than converting it to mp4 then back to DVD
