"Well i've almost finished transferring all the FX work to the new blu-ray sourced video. The difference in quality between the HDTV and the Blu-Ray is pretty noticeable. Some shots weren't as easy as just importing the new source video because of the slight differences in colour, grain structure etc. So these need a lot more work. But i've tweaked most of the shots in some small or large way."

Those pic's are cool the colors are correct, Light sabers are in the right place, I have never notice the on neck Vader, you can see stars. With the windows, you can see more scenery and reflections. ;) :) :) :) :) :)

One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.

I love these latest screenshots. My girlfriend had a lauging spell when I went back-and-forth with the "no-neck Vader". What an amazing improvement in color, detail, and visuals. It's also great to hear that the majority of footage will be from the blu-rays.

To be honest, I love the look of the grey TIEs and wish they would remain, but in the end it's Ady's edit and I'm certain in the end this will look amazing.

D'oh!  Now I feel like I've been walking around with toilet paper stuck to my shoe for the last few weeks.

Thanks for the heads up :)

It's probably way too late in the day but the new David Attenborough series Frozen Planet has some amazing footage of ice sheets, snow fields and frozen caves that could be make Hoth look really special.

It's hard to believe some of that stuff is happening on the same planet we are on.

The executor pic has a small mask error when the planet's glow meets executor. Its a small part but i think its an easy fix :)

The ties are gray again. I can take it that its an old screencap.

I personally wish Ady would go back to the grey TIEs.  Be it consistency with ANH or just that (for me) I like the grey look better than the blue (which to me makes them look more like models).  I never felt the TIEs in the Empire fleet reveal or the intro to the asteroid sequence "blended in" with the brownish-grey Star Destroyers, as they never were overlapping one another (with the exception of the first intro shot with the Falcon in the foreground and the SD directly behind it).

Great updates.

I concur!

Blue TIEs are back?

EXCELLENT.

Anyway, you could just say that they're from Vader's fleet, so they're blue like the Executor instead of gray like the Death Star. ;)

As I said earlier, I prefer the Grey TIEs personally but it's not my project so let there be blue if Ady wishes it.

Anyone know the website Moviemistakes?

They have ESB on there and while Ady has corrected a lot of the mistakes they mentioned I think its worthwhile taking a look at. Some examples even have pictures to go with. Also a good jumping off point for ROTJ.

All the sample images are taken from the latest version using the blu-ray as a source, so the fighters are grey. I decided to stick to my original plan and have the TIEs a uniform grey colour, the TIE bombers as blue and in ROTJ:R the TIE interceptors blue.

Excellent news to me.

So my wallpaper DOES reflect the final color then? ;-)

Isnt the color of the Tie fighter kind of blueish/cyanish in your wallpaper?

Ady, I asked this a few weeks ago but maybe you missed it.

Will you be using the lossless DTS-HD track from the bluray as a basis for this project, or will you be sticking to the LD rips?

I imagine Ady will be using the LD rips, simply because the blu-ray mix is based on the DVD mix, which is a complete mess.
