Yep, it's her 50th birthday :-)

Now when will George make parts 7,8&9 and bring her back to the series????

Yeah, I knew her birthday was coming up. She's a Libra like Mark Hamill (Sept. 25th).

Happy Birthday, Carrie!

Ha...my dad and Mark share the smae birthday...

Carrie looked older than 50 in Jay and Silent Bob. It's the drugs ain't it.

Hey look, a bear!

Hard to believe Princess Leia/Carrie Fisher is really 50... feels like she should be forever young. Well, happy belated 50th birthday to her! May she be here for another 50!
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Honestly, I figured she was older. Not because of any physical traits. Just for some reason, I was surprised to hear that she's only 50. But logistically, it, of course, makes sense.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I don't think you're alone. To a lot of people who grew up with the OOT, Carrie Fisher has been Princess Leia's alter ego for a long time already.

I just got a flyer in the mail for some one-woman show that Carrie Fisher is doing. The graphics feature a large martini-glass, with the bun-head of Princess Leia where the olive would be - with a toothpick through it.

It's a very cute graphic, and I was taken with the fact that Ms. Fisher is - at this point at least - doing nothing to deny the obvious that, to the world, she is and always will be Princess Leia.

Wikipedia says she's 55, which makes more sense because I was 17 in 1977, and there is NO way she was 16 when SW came out.

Except she indeed turned 50 five years ago when the thread was created! :)

55!? She looks more like 65! It's obvious she hasn't aged well, but 55!?

Harrison Ford stole her ability to age well.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Amazing to see them now compared to seeing them in the movies. Carrie Fisher, you could hardly recognize her now. She looks at least 60 now though. And plays Peter's boss in Family Guy. Better then nothing. Well, maybe better then Mark Hamill playing Joker in the Batman Cartoons.

Carrie is a best selling author, and she looked great in her "Wishful Drinking" show I saw on DVD recently.

And voice acting in cartoons pays better than you think. Mark's been doing it long before ever he picked up a lightsaber.

Yes, Frink can empathize.  When he was 55, he didn't look even that good.  But that was sooooo long ago...
