Nicely done, although the contrast and colors of your clean up are a bit too strong for my taste.

Extraordinary work on that clean up MagnoliaFan. It looks fantastic, too bad LFL couldn't do that, but I suppose we should be glad they didn't smother it with DVNR (a la GOUT).
Whoa, that looks awesome! Great job, Magnoliafan. I think a lot of fan editors just wet themselves right now.
Really great job MagnoliaFan!
I hope the community can cleanup and reedit these deleted scenes .. some of them really awsome! :)
My fav scenes:
- Luke and his Lightsaber(ROTJ)
- Jerjerrods Conflict (ROTJ)
- Han/Leias extended discussion (ESB)
Don't worry. I'm going to do all the OT scenes. It'll just take a while because I'm swamped with a few professional projects and they paycheck jobs have to come first.
The prequel scenes, with the missing blue screen stuff, I'm not so sure about bothering with.

It's a work in progress. That's just what I had after 2 hours playing around this morning, but I figured it was worth sharing.
Fair enough, it's still great work :-)
Sadly the YouTube compression muddles it a bit. Once you have a version you'd like to call final, you could maybe upload a less compressed clip to some filesharing site.
I've seen one review of Timmy to the Rescue that called MGM Money Grubbing Morons. If that's the case, then LFL stands for Lazy Film Loathers. Magnolia Fan, your restoration work on that deleted scene, even if it's a rough test, is far and away better than the official release.
It'd be nice if LFL at least scanned in a 1080p24 HD Unaltered Trilogy in the quality of the deleted scenes, with at least the theatrical stereo sound. (We could call it the UFO: Unrestored Film-based Originals) It wouldn't be ideal, but at least we'd have the Unaltered Trilogy in HD. And Magnolia Fan could probably clean up the video as best he can, and we'd have a nice, mostly restored, HD OOT to base our fan preservations off of.
EDIT: Is it just me or are our standards getting lower? I think it's just me.
The franchises I get nerdy about are so obscure that not even most nerds know about them.
That's my thing: if you can present deleted scenes in HD as a bonus, why not the original version? Isn't it the same thing? Apocrypha?
I'm glad lucasfilm didn't bother to do any cleaning of the deleted scenes. At least that way people like MagnoliaFan can start from essentially the raw materials with no Lucasfilm screw ups when doing any fan restoration/tinkering (as opposed to something like Harmy's despecialized edition which can never be totally rid of the crushed blacks as they are part of the source material).
Easy for you to say, you have a compression glitch named after you.
;-)
The most telling deleted scene for me was the one where Yoda and Obi-Wan are greeted by clones dressed as Jedi.
It shows the low level of intelligence Lucas credits his audience and his characters with to even propose such a numbskull idea.
Sure Han and Luke did something similar dressing up as Stormtroopers but George Almighty, they were wearing helmets!
.....did you even watch the scene?

Yes I watched the scene but it's still a numbskull idea, the clones are meant to be intelligent (the edge they have over the battledroids remember?).
It was stupid to even consider making it let alone pay award winning actors to film it.
Though I concede on the OT point.

So... the scenes are all gone, now; lovely. :-(
Anyone know where I can find 'em, again?

It kind of kills me how little effort they put into cleaning these up.
This is just two shots, but I threw this together in about 2 hours.
Imagine how much better it could look if they threw in half the effort with George's resources.

Wow. That is both astounding and disturbing. Thanks for posting it.

Luckily I downloaded them all before they were pulled. I'm sure they'll turn up again :-)

The thing that bothers me that I've always noticed is X-Wing ladders. Once he climbs into the cockpit, if there's no crew there he has to just cast off the ladder to the ground. How many of those do you think he goes through? =P
Yeah, that bothered me as well.
Ladders? Why would he need a ladder when R2 can just boost him up there with his rockets? Why does he need an X-Wing when R2 can just take him where he wants to go?
IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM
"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Silly xhonzi, everyone knows that Artoo's rockets are broken, and the warranty ran out just before ANH starts!

Um... are you willing to do the whole rigamarole with PMing? :-S
Is the Han/Leia deleted/alternate scene from ESB, the one with Leia wondering about what happened to 3PO, in the BluRay in 1080p?
I did not see it when the deleted scenes surfaced on youtube.
