I wonder if anyone has the solution to my inquiry in post 535. It's been bugging me for a while.

My go-to answer source for this kind of things says, "Answer uncertain.  Ask again later."

Lemme check:

In the '93 mix (I have a GOUT Torrent on my computer) I hear what sounds a little like a whistle for, like, two seconds.  Perhaps if it were higher in quality, It'd sound more like a scream.

The franchises I get nerdy about are so obscure that not even most nerds know about them.

"as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced"

I wonder if I'm the first to notice this, or if my ears are playing tricks on me or what... In Star Wars, when the Death Star blows up Alderaan, pay attention to the sound just before the explosion. Doesn't it sound like a scream, cut off in mid just as the planet explodes?

I first noticed it when listening to the mono mix, and I'm pretty sure it's in all the others, too.

Is this real or is it just me? Has anyone pointed it out before?

There is definitely a screaming sound just before the planet explodes.  I first noticed it several months ago when listening to the mono mix and thought it to be unique to that version, only to later realise that it is present in the stereo and 70mm mixes also.  It is easier to hear it for the first time in the mono since it is mixed more prominently, while in the others it is only faintly audible.

It's also there in the SE mixes, but it seems even more faint, particularly in the 2004 version.

I knew it, I wasn't hearing things!

I'm not crazy! :)

Isn't it neat? (The scream I mean, not the fact that I'm not cuckoo. :P)

We actually get to hear those voices cry out in terror and get suddenly silenced.

Since I grew up on the mono mix, I've always heard this. I've always thought it was Leia screaming.

I don't think I ever noticed that before!!  Though it sounds like only one scream, not tons.

 True dat.

Does Darth Vader eat or drink?

Is there anything in the EU or elsewhere that covers how Vader gets his daily nutrition?

All I can think of is the old Marvel comic, where he uses the Force to make a coffee cup float to him.

I'd imagine tubes in his suit.

Wow.

Maybe that's why their aim stinks.

Man, I thought everyone knew this!

Those two little tubes you see poking out of the mask towards Sebastian Shaw's mouth in ROTJ are feed tubes for liquid nutrition and water. I first saw this in one of those big white books like the cross section ones, only it had pictures of props with in-universe labeling in it.

From Wookieepedia: "Vader could take food through his mouth, but only when he was inside a hyperbaric chamber, since he had to remove his triangular respiratory vent. It was therefore easier for Vader to receive nourishment through liquids, intravenous and otherwise, and to rely on catheters, collection pouches, and recyclers to deal with liquid and solid waste.[17] Though liquids were preferable, he still had the capacity to chew if he wished,[26] though a nutrient feed provided Vader with all the nourishment he required.[6]"

Wow.

Not all of them but that's true because of the weapon design.

Okay...

So...  I told my dad about how the avi torrents I use for my videos are pirated.  His reaction?  I don't really think he cares too much about the legality of the avi torrents.  He told me "When you walk into a movie theater with a camera, and you record the movie, and you make copies of it at home to sell, that's piracy."  I'm not sure if he's against torrented avi movies.

But even if he lets me off with the avi's, the project that I'm currently working on that uses torrented avi's as a source will be my last.  I'll delete all of the projects not related to it and all of the avi movies that aren't being used in it.  Once that video is ready, it's done.  I'll upload that one, as well as two more that have been ready for some time, and then spare my old hard drive of the burden.  No more editing pirated films.  I'll stick mostly to recording my own stuff.  As an added benefit, it'll give my Indy Gear more time on my back and not collecting dust in the closet.  With Sony Vegas, color correction shouldn't be too hard if exposure is a problem.

As for the V3, my dad says we'll wait on it.  Talk about it later.  I'm beginning to think there's a chance for me to enjoy the V3 after all. :)

Forgive me, OT.com, for I have sinned.

I have put money in the pocket of Lucas. I bought a pair of Star Wars sleep pants at Wal-Mart yesterday. They were on sale, and they were a cool retro print taken from this poster and had the old style logo and everything. I couldn't pass it up.

I hope that I can be forgiven.
